Here you’ll interact with various internal and external customers on a global team of engineers that work together to address real word challenges, create customer specific solutions, and develop innovative & reliable products.\nHow will you make a difference?\nThe Mechanical Drives Engineer will collaborate with a global cross functional team to lead concept development, detail design, and validation for both Locomotive applications as well as Off-Highway Vehicles used in the Mining Industry.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nBachelor's degree from in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Structural Engineering.\nExperience in mechanical structures engineering.\nExperience with mechanical structures, seals on mobile equipment, in rail and/or mining industries.\nWhat will your typical day look like? ·\nMechanical structure (seals, gearcases, wheels, axles, shafts, gears, castings, bearings, housings) design, analysis, and validation leading detailed design reviews with internal and/or external stakeholders.\nDeveloping and preparing instructions for assembly methods and constraints monitoring and communicating project status, business issues, and significant developments.\nFatigue evaluation and life predictions - parent material SN curves, weld evaluation, etc.\nSupport the Sourcing function in development and execution of strategic Sourcing initiatives including vendor qualifications and validation testing.\nSupport factory for equipment builds issue resolution & build quality verification.\nProvide root cause analysis interfacing with leadership and customer. \nExecute service productivity projects, evaluating performance versus cost trade-offs.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. \nBenefits\nAt Wabtec, people come first.
