# Mechanical Engineer IV

Who will you be working with? As a Mechanical Engineer IV within Wabtec Passenger Transit (WPT) Engineering, you will apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design, development, validation, and sustainment of brake control products used on mass transit vehicles. You will work independently on complex technical assignments, evaluate engineering tradeoffs, support product improvements, and contribute to the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements. This role works closely with Product Engineering, Advanced Engineering, Test Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Field Service, and Project Management teams throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include supporting new product development, leading engineering tasks and project work packages, performing design and analysis activities, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions, evaluating design changes, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
