This role will be responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of critical facility readiness, business relocation, and process improvement initiatives at the new Banyo facility in Brisbane, Queensland.\nThe successful candidate will possess strong project management expertise, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects within agreed timelines while minimising disruption to ongoing operations. A key focus of the role will be driving project outcomes, enhancing operational processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and ISO standards.\nWhere is the position located?\nThis is a full-time role based in Banyo, QLD\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nProject 1: Banyo Facility Readiness\nLead all activities associated with preparing the Banyo facility for operational commencement.\nCoordinate resources, facility requirements, site layout planning, and project schedules to ensure readiness milestones are achieved.\nDevelop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and business objectives.\nEngage stakeholders across multiple functions to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within scope.\nIdentify, monitor, and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery or operational continuity.\nProject 2: Business Relocation\nLead the relocation of relevant Wabtec business operations into the new Banyo facility.\nDevelop comprehensive relocation plans that ensure business continuity and minimise operational disruption.\nCoordinate internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and service providers to execute relocation activities safely and efficiently.\nManage project timelines, dependencies, milestones, and resource requirements throughout the relocation process.\nOversee project completion, commissioning activities, and formal handover to operational teams.\nProject Governance & Reporting\nDevelop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Gantt charts and other appropriate project management tools.\nProvide regular project status updates, including weekly progress reports to senior leadership.\nManage project scope, risks, issues, and change requests through established governance processes.\nEnsure effective communication and accountability across all project workstreams.\nDeliver projects in accordance with agreed objectives, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.\nProcess Improvement & Compliance\nReview, update, and standardise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Banyo operation.\nIdentify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and process effectiveness.\nEnsure all SOPs and operational practices comply with applicable quality management systems and ISO standards.\nWork closely with operational, safety, and quality teams to implement sustainable and scalable business processes.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and embed best-practice operational disciplines throughout the organisation.\nStakeholder Management\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with site leadership, operational teams, suppliers, contractors, and key business stakeholders.\nFacilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of priorities, deliverables, and project objectives.\nManage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, regular updates, and proactive engagement.\nEscalate critical risks, issues, and decisions in a timely and professional manner.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and outcome-focused project execution.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nEssentialDemonstrated experience managing complex operational, facility relocation, or business transition projects.\nProven ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects within challenging timelines.\nStrong project planning and scheduling capabilities, including experience with Gantt chart development and project tracking tools.\nExcellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.\nExperience in risk management, project governance, and change management.\nStrong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.\n\nDesirableExperience within manufacturing, mining, industrial, engineering, or operational environments.\nFormal project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, Diploma of Project Management, or equivalent).\nExperience implementing or maintaining ISO-compliant management systems.\nKnowledge of operational process design, continuous improvement, or Lean methodologies.\n\nKey CompetenciesProject Planning and Execution\nStakeholder Engagement\nChange Management\nRisk Management\nProcess Improvement\nBusiness Continuity Planning\nLeadership and Influence\nOrganisational Effectiveness\nCommunication and Reporting\nResults Orientation\n\nApplicants must have current working rights in Australia.
