This role provides enterprise-level systems engineering leadership by establishing solution architectures, technical standards, integration strategies, and technology roadmaps that support current and future business objectives. Working across engineering, product management, commercial, operations, and customer organizations, the position drives development of scalable, reliable, and interoperable solutions while influencing engineering practices, technical direction, and long-term innovation strategies.\nExperience & Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree preferred.\n12+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, integration engineering, or complex technology development environments.\nDemonstrated expertise leading architecture and systems engineering activities for large-scale, multi-product solutions.\nDeep knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, architecture development, verification, validation, and lifecycle management.\nExperience establishing solution-level standards, methodologies, and engineering best practices.\nStrong understanding of software, hardware, communications, cloud, infrastructure, and operational technology integration.\nAdvanced experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next Generation, or equivalent platforms.\nProven ability to influence strategic technical decisions across multiple organizations without direct authority.\nDemonstrated success leading resolution of complex technical, operational, and integration challenges with significant business impact.\nRailroad, transportation, industrial automation, or mission-critical systems experience strongly preferred.\nExperience mentoring senior engineers and providing technical leadership across geographically dispersed teams.\nExcellent executive-level communication, stakeholder management, and technical presentation skills.\nResponsibilities:\nDefine and govern enterprise-level solution architectures supporting multiple customer programs and product platforms.\nLead development and maintenance of solution technology roadmaps and multi-generational technology plans.\nEstablish solution-level requirements, interface strategies, architecture standards, and engineering governance processes.\nServe as the principal systems engineering advisor for complex customer opportunities, proposals, and strategic initiatives.\nLead technical evaluation of customer requirements, RFIs, and RFPs and guide development of solution strategies.\nDrive cross-functional alignment among systems, software, hardware, integration, product management, and commercial teams.\nDevelop and promote systems engineering methodologies, standards, and best practices across the Digital Electronics organization.\nLead identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic technical, architectural, and integration risks.\nInfluence future product and platform development by translating customer, market, and operational needs into technical direction.\nProvide expert leadership during solution integration, validation, field deployment, and performance improvement activities.\nMentor senior engineers and technical leaders while fostering systems engineering capability across the organization.\nRepresent systems engineering expertise in executive reviews, strategic planning activities, customer engagements, and technology investment discussions.\nYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.\nRelocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.\nOur job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $120600-171700 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
