These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction\nYou will work collaboratively with internal teams, including software engineers, testing and commissioning and project managers, to contribute to the successful delivery of projects.\nWhere is the position located?\nThis role is FIFO / DIDO from Mackay / Townsville to the site just outside out Townsville. The roster is 8 days on / 6 days off, 10 hour days. Candidates can be located in Brisbane or any major city (FIFO supported).\nHow will you make a difference?\nAs a member of Wabtec Control Systems this role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing signaling systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of customer and client rail networks.\n***Certificate IV in Rail Signaling qualification is MANDATORY for this position.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nInstall, test, and commission signaling equipment including track circuits, point machines, signals, and train control systems.\nConduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the integrity and reliability of signaling infrastructure.\nTroubleshoot and diagnose faults in signaling systems, utilising technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify and rectify issues promptly.\nCollaborate with engineering teams to implement signaling upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.\nProvide technical support during commissioning activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.\nDocument maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nAssist in the development of training materials and provide mentoring and guidance to client-side maintenance teams, junior staff and apprentices.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nLooking for FIFO role from Brisbane OR any major cities (e.g. Sydney, Melbourne, Perth)\nCertificate IV in Rail Signaling (Electrical) - MANDATORY\nElectrical Licence - Essential\nStatement of Competency\nRail Industry Worker Card\nValid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different work sites, including Remote QLD as required.\nProven experience working in the rail industry, preferably in signaling maintenance, installation and commissioning.\nStrong knowledge of signaling principles, standards and regulations, and relevant rail safety standards.\nProficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.\nAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.\nAbility to work under pressure in both office and site environments.\nWe thank all applicants for their interest; each application will receive a response.\nWe do not accept unsolicited contact from recruitment agencies.\nSuccessful candidates will be required to complete background and criminal history check.\n What could you accomplish in a place that puts People First?\nAt Wabtec, it’s not just about a job - it’s about the impact you make.
