Visit our website to learn more!\nWho will you be working with?\nIn this role, you will work with the HMI and Advanced Features Software Development team. This team collaborates closely with other Wabtec Controls Software teams, Sub-system teams, and Simulation teams.\nHow will you make a difference?\nAs a member of the HMI and Advanced Features Software team, you will design, develop, maintain, and test customer-facing embedded software solutions that improve locomotive operations, maintenance, reliability, and performance. You will translate system-level requirements into robust software requirements and interfaces, support hardware/software integration, and contribute to validation across simulation laboratory and on-locomotive environments. You will also collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot defects and ensure solutions meet configurability, performance, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nRequired\nBachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another Engineering discipline.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering or adjacent experience.\nExperience with Linux operating systems on embedded systems.\nExperience contributing to the design of new embedded software systems.\nExperience with hardware/software integration, Docker, and languages such as C/C++ and Bash.\nExperience with MATLAB and MATLAB Simulink.\nExperience developing and testing embedded software.\nUnderstanding of CI/CD software engineering practices.\nKnowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices across the full software development life cycle, including requirements management, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, defect tracking, testing, and operations.\nAbility to prioritise and manage trade-offs effectively to meet overall objectives.\nAbility and willingness to support hands-on validation in a simulation laboratory and on a locomotive.\nAbility and willingness to travel as required.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nDesign, develop, maintain, and test software.\nEnsure software is robust against expected configurability, performance, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.\nReview and refine control system-level requirements to understand design intent and reconcile them with software capabilities.\nDerive software requirements and interfaces from system requirements and allocate them to software components.\nDevelop, review, and execute hardware/software and software/software test plans for unit and integration testing.\nParticipate in software troubleshooting efforts to identify the root causes of failures and defects across test environments.\nEnsure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.\nSupport verification and validation through the execution of validation test cases across various test environments.\nProvide timely communication regarding significant issues, risks, and developments.\nRelocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.\nOur Commitment to Embrace Diversity:\nWabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
