The engineer will perform both manual and automated testing, support hardware/software integration activities, develop and maintain test documentation and automation solutions, and follow company policies and approved engineering processes throughout the validation lifecycle.\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nAs a Software Test Engineer II, you will:\nReview and analyze system and software requirements for testability.\nDevelop detailed test plans and test procedures under senior guidance.\nCreate and maintain test cases with complete requirements traceability.\nPerform manual and automated testing of embedded software.\nDocument results and produce clear, comprehensive test reports.\nMaintain effective communication with peers, developers, and stakeholders.\nAssist with laboratory equipment setup, tracking, organization, and maintenance.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of test automation solutions to improve test coverage and efficiency.\nFollow company policies, engineering standards, safety requirements, and approved validation processes throughout all assigned activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.\nMinimum of two years of experience in software testing, embedded systems, or a related field.\nUnderstanding of electronic control systems, and hardware/software integration.\nAbility to manage assigned testing activities while adapting to changing priorities and schedules.\nHands-on experience testing and debugging software, and/or hardware-based systems.\nPractical experience using Python for testing, debugging, or automation.\nExperience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.\nDesired Skills\nUnderstanding of network communication and communication protocols\nWorking knowledge of C and/or C++.\nExperience with Linux operating systems.\nExperience with application lifecycle management tools supporting requirements traceability, test case development, and workflow management (e.g., IBM ELM).\nUnderstanding of Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum, in an embedded systems environment.\nExperience working with geographically distributed teams.\nExposure to or interest in the rail and transportation industry.\nOur job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $62100-85300 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
