These offerings include tailored Maintenance Contracts, Overhauls, Asset Performance Management, Upgrades and modernisations.\nLearn more about our business here - Freight Services\nReporting to the Service Leader, the Technical Specialist will support a Battery Electric Locomotive Project more specifically FLX Drive Locomotives.\nWhere is the position located?\nPort Hedland\nRoster: 7 days on, 7 days off- this is a residential role (FIFO is not offered for this position)\nWhat will your typical day look like?\nWork hand in hand with the customer for implementation of new Battery Electric Locomotives (BELs) across all facets of operations, maintenance, and engineering;\nCoordinate implementation of field modifications and monitor effectiveness;\nDevelop a deep understanding of the customer’s business to identify opportunities for account growth;\nEnsure timely resolution of customer issues and customer satisfaction;\nInteract with Wabtec teams regionally on issues, product development and training;\nMonitor Fleet performance and communicate trends to parts ordering and lead min max levels;\nOperate safely and under site isolation processes;\nProvide coaching and assistance to customer on product maintenance, troubleshooting and repair;\nPerform joint investigation of failed components with the customer for warranty administration;\nPartner with the customer to develop and have a smooth transition of BELs into operations;\nAchieve Wabtec internal training certification training within 18 months;\nRespond to requests for troubleshooting, failure support, field modification oversight, issue feedback and engineering support;\nManage day-to-day material requisition transactions to ensure timely supply of required parts and materials;\nReport on fleet performance criteria and contribute to customer monthly meetings including reliability trends, root cause analysis and pareto charts;\nTrack product performance metrics and issue recommendations for continuous improvement; and\nTake ownership of on-site technical fleet performance to ensure optimum product reliability.\nWhat do we want to know about you?\nGrade A Electrical License or equivalent;\nAbility to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a dynamic and face paced environment;\nDemonstrated ability to support and resolve problems with customer focus;\nExperience working within the Rail Industry preferably on Wabtec / GET locomotives;\nStrong customer service mindset;\nStrong oral and written communication skills;\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills;\nAbility and willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required;\nA high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal;\nAbility to work in the Pilbara region of Western Australia namely Port Hedland; \nEffective problem-solving skills and ability;\nStrong computer literacy with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; and\nAbility to independently develop, maintain and manage spreadsheets, technical reports, project trackers and professional customer facing documentation.\nApplicants must have current working rights in Australia.
