Want to join the ride?\nWärtsilä Global Logistics Services in Kampen operates our Central Distribution Centre, supplying more than 100,000 technical spare parts to customers across the Marine and Energy industries worldwide.\nAs a Master Data Classification Engineer, you will work in a technical and logistics environment, ensuring accurate material master data related to the classification of spare parts. You will support the timely classification and re-classification of parts to meet customer delivery requirements, while working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and classification societies.\nYou will join an experienced and passionate team of classification engineers, documentation specialists and tuning specialists working closely together in a fast-paced international environment. This role also gives you exposure to cost-saving initiatives, process development and the practical use of AI within classification activities.\nThe position is permanent and based at our Global Distribution Centre in Kampen, the Netherlands.\nWhat will you be doing?\nIn this role, you will:\nMaintain material master data related to the classification of spare parts.\nEnsure and support re-classification activities so that required customer delivery dates can be met on time.\nAnalyze classification requirements and determine the appropriate default classification society.\nCollaborate closely with Purchasing, Technical, Parts Coordination and Quality teams, as well as suppliers, customers and classification societies.\nContribute to classification-related cost-saving initiatives together with suppliers and internal stakeholders.\nSupport improvements and increased efficiency within classification processes.\nContribute to the practical use and development of AI agents and AI-enabled solutions within classification activities.\nEnsure that classification documentation and related data are accurate and up to date.\nWhat do we expect from you?\nWe are looking for someone with technical understanding, a proactive mindset and natural curiosity. You enjoy finding the right answer and are comfortable researching technical information and classification requirements when the solution is not immediately obvious.\nYou bring:\nTechnical education or relevant technical working experience.\nUnderstanding of diesel engines, rotating equipment and/or propulsion technology.\nA self-starter mentality and the ability to take ownership of your work.\nNatural curiosity and a research-oriented mindset, with the willingness to dig into classification rules and technical requirements to find the correct solution.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders.\nGood written and spoken English.\nExperience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.\nAn interest in data, digitalization and AI-supported ways of working.\nExperience in a technical logistics environment is considered an advantage.\nWhat makes this role interesting?\nThis role combines technical knowledge, data and classification expertise in an international logistics environment.
