We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent - want to join the ride?\nWe are looking for aCommissioning Engineer, Electrical with a main responsibility for planning and supervising electrical installation and commissioning activities at the project site. This position will therefore see you traveling abroad, around the world,approximately 250 days a year. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Turku or Helsinki, Finland. Please note that living in one of the preferred office locations is not mandatory.\nYour role and responsibilities\nThis position offers you an opportunity to use and enlarge your expertise in an international and dynamic environment, working on new-build power plant installation and commissioning works. Projects, production locations, Wärtsilä offices, customers, and suppliers can be found all over the world. We offer you an interesting position and the possibility to work with a successful global team in an international company.\nResponsibilities during installation:\nGuide electrical subcontractor(s) at the site\n\nEnsure that planned works are executed according to the Last Planner System\n\nMaintain good reporting practices\n\nEnsure that electrical as-built drawings are completed and communicated\n\nSafeguard compliance with HSSE policies and minimize risks in electrical installations and tests\n\nCoordinate construction and installation works in cooperation with civil and mechanical disciplines\n\nPerform inspection of received material and goods at the site\n\nParticipate in the electrical weekly site meetings\n\nPerform quality control and installation inspections at the site\n\nGuide the subcontractor(s) with electrical design and installation instructions\n\nAssist the subcontractor(s) in planning, organizing, and executing electrical works\n\nAdvise and support the client in planning, organizing, and executing tests\n\nEnsure that safe inspections and test procedures are followed\n\nInstruct the subcontractor to use accepted test and inspection methods and proper test equipment\n\nPerform testing of installed equipment and document test results\n\nMaintain the punch list\n\nEnsure that all required documents are submitted and signed by the customer for the takeover of the plant\n\nResponsibilities during commissioning:\nPerform start-up and tests of equipment within the scope of the contract\n\nFollow the commissioning plan\n\nFollow commissioning and performance test procedures\n\nEnsure that all test results are documented according to Wärtsilä instructions\n\nSafeguard compliance with EHS policies and minimize risks during commissioning\n\nEnsure that safe commissioning practices are followed\n\nResolve and record technical problems during commissioning\n\nParticipate in the site commissioning meetings\n\nEnsure that safe and calibrated test equipment is used\n\nMaintain good reporting practices\n\nGuide operation personnel with plant design and functionalities\n\nAssist the client with commissioning procedures and testing\n\nEnsure safe and reliable function of the plant and equipment\n\nEnsure that as-built drawings are completed and communicated\n\nMaintain the punch list\n\nEnsure that all required documents are submitted and signed by the client for takeover of the plant\n\nTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have:\nB.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering\n\nFamiliarity with relevant codes and standards\n\nUnderstanding of utility generation construction and commissioning practices, working experience in similar tasks is preferred\n\nGood communication and team-building skills\n\nWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies\n\nWillingness to travel\n\nAbility to adjust to a wide range of conditions and cultural environments\n\nGood command of English, both oral and written\n\nOther language skills are seen as an advantage\n\nWhy you and us?\nWe at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership, and taking responsibility for our work.
