This role offers the opportunity to work on naval and commercial marine projects, with a strong focus on defence applications.\nRole Overview\nYou will be responsible for the design, analysis, and lifecycle support of marine shaftline seal systems. The role combines detailed engineering design, calculation work, supplier collaboration, and customer support.\nWhat will you be doing?\nDesign & Engineering\nProduce General Arrangement (GA) drawings and detailed designs for shaftline seal installations \nDevelop design solutions that meet technical and project requirements \nEnsure designs comply with engineering standards and data control processes \nAnalysis & Validation\nPerform and support engineering calculations related to seal performance and system behaviour \nContribute to technical assessments and design validation activities \nSupplier & Product Support\nSupport specification and configuration of internally manufactured components \nLiaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical requirements are met Customer & Field Support \nProvide technical support during installation, commissioning, and servicing of seal assemblies \nAssist customers throughout the product lifecycle with technical expertise \nDocumentation & Delivery\nDeliver high-quality engineering documentation on time \nMaintain accurate product data and records \nSupport continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools \nTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have:\nEssential\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) \nExperience in mechanical design and engineering analysis \nProficiency in CAD tools (e.g. Solid Edge or similar) \nAbility to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to work tasks. \nFluency in the English language, both verbal and written. \nCompetency in the use of normal office software such as MS Excel, Word and Outlook. \nDesirable\nExperience in marine equipment, seals, or bearing \nKnowledge of seal design or mechanical calculations \nFamiliarity with shock calculations \nExperience with MathCAD, MATLAB, or similar tools \nUnderstanding of composite materials \nMarine industry experience (preferred) \nSecurity Requirements\nCandidates must be eligible to obtain the required level of security clearance for this role.\nWhy you and us?\nWork on cutting-edge marine and defence engineering projects\nBe part of a global organisation focused on sustainability and innovation\nAccess ongoing training, development, and career growth opportunities\nContact & Next Steps:\nIf you feel excited by being part of this dynamic working environment and you think your personal skills and qualities match the job requirements, we would love to hear from you before the application deadline by submitting your application through the careers portal.
