We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent - want to join the ride?\nLocation: Lihir, Papua New Guinea (PNG)\nAre you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician looking for an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a power plant environment?\nWe are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join our team at the Lihir site in Papua New Guinea. This opportunity is for Papua New Guinean nationals/local candidates, and a valid PNG electrical licence is required.\nWhat Will You Be Doing?\nAs a Maintenance Technician (Electrical), your responsibilities will include:\nMaintain the plant during assigned shifts in accordance with company policies, procedures, and the established maintenance plan.\nIdentify and locate sensors and transmitters on engines and auxiliary equipment, conducting testing and replacement when required.\nCarry out inspections of electrical equipment and take corrective action when necessary.\nPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.\nInspect and maintain generators, transformers, motors, switchgear, circuit breakers, and control panels.\nDiagnose electrical faults and perform repairs efficiently to minimize plant downtime.\nCalibrate electrical instruments and protection devices.\nUse electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, and power quality analyzers.\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.\nPerform work in accordance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) guidelines and customer site procedures, including isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.\nFollow appropriate emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in the event of equipment failure or safety-related incidents.\nSupport the Maintenance Supervisor with maintenance and operational activities as required.\nCoach and mentor other technicians and general technical assistants.\nEnsure working areas, machinery, auxiliary equipment, and tools are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.\nPrepare accurate work and maintenance reports in accordance with applicable guidelines.\nJob Specifications\nTo succeed in this role, you should have:\nThis position is intended for Papua New Guinean nationals/local candidates who meet the technical requirements of the role.Please ensure you hold a valid PNG electrical licence before applying.\nA Trade Certificate or equivalent recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology.\nA valid PNG electrical licence to perform electrical work.
