In accordance with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely. This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.\nWhat will you be doing?\nIn this role, you will be responsible for spare parts purchasing, managing the entire process from requirement to delivery. Your goal will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, supporting smooth operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.\nThe ideal candidate has experience with purchasing or logistics, preferably in the spare parts business. Technical understanding is beneficial for effectively managing customer requests and supplier communications. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will work closely with your team in a fast-paced environment to deliver the best possible service experience for our customers.\nYour responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:\nPreparing and executing the purchase order process.\n\nProactively following up on purchase orders and handling supplier invoices.\n\nManaging supplier claims efficiently.\n\nDeveloping and improving ways of working in cooperation with operations support and process development.\n\nFostering teamwork within the team and building commitment.\n\nCollaborating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.\n\nExecuting purchase orders, monitoring orders, confirming details, and rescheduling as necessary.\n\nMonitoring and reporting on supplier performance.\n\nMaintaining material and logistics data in relevant systems within the defined area of responsibility.\n\nCoordinating the delivery of goods and logistics information with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nExpediting the delivery of goods to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.\n\nCoaching suppliers and internal stakeholders as needed.\n\nContinuously improving operative logistics activities.\n\nThe following will enable you to succeed in this role:\nM.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or similar educational background\n\nFew years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or transportation, preferably in the spare parts business\n\nBasic understanding of supply chain management, inventory planning, customs data and product compliance\n\nTechnical understanding to effectively manage customer requests and supplier communications, ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications, understanding of Wärtsilä products and solutions\n\nProficiency in SAP, MS Office tools, and Supplier Portal\n\nTeam-player mindset, enabling seamless collaboration both within the team and across different departments, to achieve common goals\n\nExcellent stakeholder management skills to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders\n\nProactive and result-oriented mindset\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\n\nFlexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment\n\nEffective communication and negotiation skills\n\nFluent English and Finnish language skills, both written and spoken\n\nWhy you and us?\nWe at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership and taking responsibility of our work.
