Ensure timeliness and quality of Electrical Engineering, Design and Programming services, to both internal and external customers. Perform in a production engineering role as schedule allows. Periodic international and domestic travel is required. The successful candidates will enjoy a challenging role with a wide variety of work responsibilities and many learning opportunities.\nPrimary Managerial Job Responsibilities\nDirect the work of Automated Systems Group personnel including planning, scheduling and staffing\nMeasure performance of responsible teams with respect to meeting schedule and accuracy of work product\nTrain and lead responsible teams in problem solving and development of design and departmental processes \nLead departmental and inter-departmental product/process development teams to optimize deliverables to/from internal and external suppliers/customers\nOrganize and create departmental processes to:\nProduce high-quality design output and minimize errors\nMaintain project schedules\nMinimize design process cycle time\nHire, train, coach, support, evaluate, and discipline assigned personnel\nEmploy leadership and communication skills in the resolution of critical issues\nComplete employee performance evaluations, corrective action plans and other personnel documentation in accordance with company policies\nAdminister, and assure maintenance of, department-specific controlled documentation\nMaintain department ISO Quality Standards and Procedures and assist in the resolution of quality concerns\nEnsure compliance of engineering and design output with all applicable safety and regulatory standards\nWork in a highly collaborative fashion with the Technical Service and R&D Automation Technology groups, relative to the professional development of personnel and sharing of resources in a manner most efficient in order to complete both production and development projects.\nImplement company vision statement, mission statement, and corporate and departmental goals and objectives\nAbide by, support, and enforce company policies; ensure department business operations are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies\nPrepare and administer annual operational and capital budget plan \nMaintain confidentiality and protect proprietary information\nPeriodic domestic and international travel required depending upon customer and business needs\nIn order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required \nOther duties as assigned\nPrimary Production Job Responsibilities\nLead and/or participate with project teams to define the electrical engineering and automation requirements, including planned hours, based upon the scope as provided by Sales\nCreate the design documents necessary for acquiring customer approval for electrical/automation designs and oversee production of design documents necessary for equipment production, both according to documented design procedures\nServe as Wagstaff’s primary technical contact to customer’s technical personnel for electrical engineering and automation issues throughout the project, up to and including product start-up\nProvide documented technical and analytical evaluations for automation solutions keeping safety, functionality, and cost effectiveness paramount\nTrain and/or consult with other team members in support of the required engineering and designs for numerous Wagstaff product lines as assigned\nDesign conceptual and detailed PLC based control systems and related architectures\nProgram PLCs for direct chill aluminum casting pits and related device control \nProgram and develop SCADA and HMI systems \nTest and troubleshoot hardware and software\nProvide technical support to Wagstaff service personnel and customers to resolve customer issues as they relate to Wagstaff provided electrical/automation systems\nPerform design review and post-commissioning review for continual improvement of Wagstaff automated products\nCreate, modify and maintain design standards as necessary\nServe as a subject matter expert for particular pieces of Wagstaff equipment, processes, or methods as assigned\nRequirements\nBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline\nMinimum of seven (5) years electrical engineering and design experience; industrial experience preferred\nLeadership Skills:\nSupervise a staff of engineers and designers.
