Inspects facilities for needed maintenance or repairs.\n\nPerforms work associated with developing, administering, and managing all aspects of maintenance activities for facilities and across various trades\n\nMaintains work order database related to work area and ensures staff follows best maintenance practices as set forth by the maintenance department.\n\nProvides on the job training for staff.\n\nResponsible for procedure compliance and adherence to all safety procedures.\n\nManages purchasing budget, inventories of parts, and tools.\n\nReviews vendor and manufacturer manuals to ensure compliance with equipment specifications.\n\nResponsible for processing and providing information in a timely manner related to issues such as safe work practices, work schedules or delays, wasted resources, non-compliance to procedures, and work processes or procedures that could improve performance or reduce cost.\n\nResponds to inclement weather emergencies and/or natural disasters by cleaning and clearing debris.\n\nPerforms other related duties, as assigned.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThis position operates in an indoor and outdoor environment. This role routinely uses a variety of equipment such as computers and hand/power tools. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, contractors, external funding agencies, vendors and the community. Work is considered heavy physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. Continually requires the ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, use of multiple height ladders, lifts and hand/power tools. The work requires the ability to operate automotive equipment.
