Manages data exchange processes and ensures data integrity between Wake County Public Schools (WCPSS) and service providers. Serves as a liaison between Compensation Services and Technology Services, processing support requests and assisting with project management.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)\nConsiderable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps; including proficiency with Excel formulas and pivot tables;\nConsiderable knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Software as it applies to Payroll and Benefits processing and Business Intelligence reporting tools;\nConsiderable knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL);\nConsiderable knowledge of database systems with the ability to analyze and organize data within large, complex databases;\nConsiderable knowledge of electronic project management tools;\nEffective time management skills;\nCritical thinking and problem-solving skills;\nAbility to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail;\nAbility to work independently and complete tasks in the absence of clear direction;\nAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, and vendors.\n\nEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, business, math, or related field;\nThree to five years of related experience;\nEvidence of successful project management experience with reportable outcomes;\nOther combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.\n\nCERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS\nNone\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience using SQL programming and working with Oracle business applications within accounting or payroll systems;\nExperience using Splash BI reporting tools to manipulate data sets and generate reports;\nKnowledge of large school district business operations.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nServes as the primary backup to the Systems Administrator by providing operational support for enterprise payroll and compensation systems, assisting with system administration functions, maintaining business continuity, and supporting critical system processes during absences or peak operational periods.\nMaintains comprehensive knowledge of Compensation Services business processes, Oracle functionality, payroll systems, and data integration to support efficient operations and continuous process improvement.\nManages multiple projects while supporting Compensation Services operations; supports existing applications by acting as a liaison for problem and operational issue resolution.\nStays abreast of Help Desk issues that relate to assigned business processes and assist in their resolution.\nPerforms software testing for all updates and enhancements of payroll systems applications for quality assurance.\nWorks with Compensations Services staff to evaluate their technical needs and gathers requirements for data integration or enhancements to applications.\nDevelops reports and reporting tools to assist Compensation Services Specialists with payroll processing and auditing.\nOversees data exchange and file transfer processes to ensure they are completed timely and accurately.\nAssists the Systems Administrator team leader in planning and scheduling resources, as needed.\nStays abreast of project progress and ensure that deadlines are met or revised, as appropriate.\nEnsures acceptable level of customer satisfaction and uses feedback to help improve relationships and work processes.\nPerforms other related duties, as assigned.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, and the community. Work at times requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or exert up to 10 pounds.
