This role oversees work intake, assignment, capacity planning, delivery schedules, and communication with stakeholders and leadership. The Manager ensures that development work follows established processes and quality standards, maintains sufficient technical knowledge to review ETL deliverables, and provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance support to assigned staff.\nResponsibilities\nWork Performed and Job Requirements\nDelivery Planning and CoordinationManages intake and prioritization of change requests, new features, implementation work, and other development activities.\nAssigns and balances work across the development team based on priorities, deadlines, skills, and capacity.\nDevelops and maintains delivery plans and timelines.\nTracks progress and communicates delivery status, risks, dependencies, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.\nIdentifies, escalates, and resolves barriers that affect delivery.\n\nDevelopment Processes and QualityEnsures that the team follows established software development lifecycle processes, standards, and documentation requirements.\nReviews ETL packages and other deliverables to assess quality, risk, readiness, and adherence to established standards.\nMaintains sufficient technical knowledge through development and support activities to evaluate team work and support platform proficiency.\nSupports continuous improvement in delivery processes, data quality, and team effectiveness.\n\nStakeholder and Technical CoordinationCoordinates with technical teams and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, priorities, dependencies, and delivery commitments.\nCoordinate across teams and with business stakeholders on requirements, priorities, and delivery commitments, including alignment with the team responsible for the data loading calendar. This role does not own the data loading calendar.\nPartners with senior developers who provide technical mentorship and reinforces their role as technical leaders.\nSupports collaboration across teams to address data integration, development, and operational needs.\nProvides information and recommendations related to delivery status, capacity, risks, and resource needs.\n\nTeam Leadership and DevelopmentDirectly supervises assigned staff, including workflow assignment, prioritization, and performance oversight.\nProvides coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to promote consistent, high-quality service delivery.\nOversees onboarding and training of new staff and serves as the resource for operational processes.\nParticipates in hiring, performance reviews, and developmental planning for direct reports.\n\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation/Training\nMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, or a related field is required.\nExperience\nMinimum of 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, or data integration development using SQL Server and related technologies is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams as a formal manager or technical lead with planning, coordination, and work-assignment responsibilities is required. Experience managing work intake, delivery schedules, capacity, stakeholder communication, and development processes is required. Hands-on experience with SQL Server and SSIS sufficient to review package design and assess quality is required. Experience with healthcare claims, encounter, enrollment, eligibility, or regulatory-reporting data is preferred. These factors include but are not limited to experience, education, training, skills, licensures, and certifications, along with other business and organizational needs. HMA may adjust the posted salary range estimate for applicable geographic differentials associated with the location where we may fill the position. At HMA, we generally do not hire an individual at or near the top of the range for their role. All compensation decisions are dependent on the variables of each case.
