The Senior Data Scientist I collaborates with technical, operational, client service, and business teams, documents findings and recommendations, and communicates analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.\nResponsibilities\nWork Performed and Job Requirements\nHealthcare Data AnalysisInvestigates and resolves complex healthcare data issues, discrepancies, and operational questions.\nPerforms root-cause analysis by reviewing source data, SQL code, ETL processes, business rules, and processing workflows.\nAnalyzes claims, encounter, enrollment, eligibility, provider, and financial data to identify trends and data issues that affect client deliverables and operational processes.\n\nData Quality and Technical ReviewWrites and maintains complex SQL queries for data validation, analysis, troubleshooting, reconciliation, and reporting.\nReviews data transformations, ETL processes, technical specifications, and business rules to identify data quality and processing issues.\nValidates processing results and recommends corrective actions to improve data accuracy and reporting.\n\nCollaboration and Solution DevelopmentCollaborates with developers, analysts, operations teams, client service teams, and business stakeholders to define problems, evaluate impacts, and implement solutions.\nTranslates analytical findings into recommendations that support data integration, reporting, operational processes, and encounter submission capabilities.\nServes as a subject matter resource for assigned clients, data domains, business rules, and processing methodologies.\n\nDocumentation and CommunicationDocuments findings, recommendations, data issues, business rules, and resolutions.\nCommunicates technical and analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.\nPrepares analysis and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders, clients, and project teams.\n\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation/Training\nMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in data science, biostatistics, epidemiology, computer science, mathematics, statistics, information systems, healthcare informatics, or a related field is required.\nExperience\nMinimum of 5 years of experience working with healthcare data, analytics, data investigation, data quality, reporting, or data integration processes is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and analyzing SQL queries is required. These factors include but are not limited to experience, education, training, skills, licensures, and certifications, along with other business and organizational needs. HMA may adjust the posted salary range estimate for applicable geographic differentials associated with the location where we may fill the position. At HMA, we generally do not hire an individual at or near the top of the range for their role. All compensation decisions are dependent on the variables of each case.
