The Opportunity The Indigenous Genomics Team at The Kids Research Institute Australia is an Indigenous-led research group focused on using genomics and precision health to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The team works closely with communities to deliver ethical, community-led research that supports health equity and builds Indigenous leadership in genomic science. The Project Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Epigenetics of Health and Disease team, helping to coordinate research projects, finance, reporting, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Working closely with the Head of Epigenetics, the role maintains effective systems and processes that support the team’s research activities and laboratory operations, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and organisational requirements are met. Some of your responsibilities will include: Coordinate research projects, timelines, milestones and reporting requirements. Support finance, purchasing, invoicing, budget tracking and compliance activities.

Maintain team documentation, processes, laboratory records and knowledge resources. Coordinate laboratory operations, consumables, onboarding, meetings and stakeholder engagement. Support grant administration, ethics approvals, research activities and process improvements.

Based at our modern offices at Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this is an ongoing opportunity offering 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, (flexible for the right candidate). The salary range for this role is $92,000 - $97,000 (depending on experience) + Super. About You To be successful in this position you will possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Science or a related discipline, with experience in a research environment.

Demonstrated experience in project coordination, administration or research support. Knowledge of medical research and laboratory practices, with strong attention to detail. Experience supporting financial administration, compliance, ethics or governance processes.

Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills. High level of digital literacy, including experience with collaboration and project management tools. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a team.
