This position is responsible for handling day-to-day accounting activities and will require the ability to manage multiple topics in a dynamic, growing business environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve complex accounting matters, and continuously improve accounting processes.\nResponsibilities \nDaily accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, posting bills, journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining support schedules and documentations for significant balance sheet accounts\nPrepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other period-end adjustments in line with accounting standards\nMonitor and reconcile inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounts to ensure alignment with physical stock and customer invoicing\nManage incoming invoices, including formal compliance checks and verification of correct cost center allocation\nAssist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and supporting financial schedules\nSupport order-to-cash processes, including preparing quotes, issuing invoices, tracking payments, and updating order status in the CRM system\nSupport tax-related processes and preparing the required documentation for our external tax advisors\nConduct data research and compile reports, summaries, and responses to support management and controlling functions\nLead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, while contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls\nServe as the primary point of contact for accounting related matters and manage a broad range of financial responsibilities, taking on additional tasks and special projects as required\nRequirements\nJob Requirements\nCertified CPA (or CPA eligible) or a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field combined with a Master’s degree in Accounting\nStrong accounting and finance background with a minimum of 4 years of practical experience in corporate accounting, preferably within the industrial sector\nProficiency in advanced accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals and prepayments, month-end close activities and year-end tax preparation\nComprehensive understanding of US GAAP and its practical application\nExperience with revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting, including accrual-based revenue recognition, maintaining deferred revenue schedules, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606).\nBasic knowledge of tax regulations and a willingness to further develop expertise in this area\nExperience working with Quickbooks, ERP systems, and/or inventory management systems preferred\nExperience supporting corporate mergers, entity reorganizations, or post-merger accounting integration, including general ledger transitions, account reconciliations, and financial reporting is preferred\nExperience related to DCAA accounting practices optional\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn new software packages\nExcellent organizational and planning abilities, as well as problem-solving skills\nHigh degree of initiative, as well as detail-oriented and reliable working style\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nExport Control Requirements\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.\nBenefits\nWalaris is a rapidly growing company building complex software systems for defense, national security, government, and critical infrastructure customers worldwide.
