Additionally, the Estimator will support operations staff with preparation of change orders, subcontracts, and material agreements and cost analysis.\nPrepares cost estimates.\n\nInterprets plans and specifications.\n\nConducts pre-estimate job site reviews.\n\nReferences and updates historical market and competitor research data for use in estimate preparation.\n\nSubmits cost estimates to federal, state, municipal and private entities by utilizing software such as AASHTOWare, Bid Express, Expedite Bid.\n\nAssemble purchase order and subcontractor documents.\n\nAttend project setup meetings.\n\nCollaborates with Project Managers to conduct cost reviews and prepare change orders.\n\nPerform other related duties as required and assigned.\n\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization or combination of schooling and relevant work experience\n\nMust be self-motivated with the ability to work individually on multiple projects with varying deadlines or in a team environment on large projects.\n\nValid Driver's License and considered insurable by insurance standards.\n\nPreferred skills:\nProficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.\n\nHCSS software knowledge such as HeavyBid and HeavyJob is a plus.\n\nProject management experience in heavy civil construction a plus.\n\nPrevious heavy civil, commercial and/or industrial estimating experience is a plus.\n\nStrong technical writing skills to develop content for proposals, estimates and contracts.\n\nAbility to communicate to others to convey information effectively, either by telephone, in written form, email or in person with the ability to conduct presentations, coordinate site visits and lead owner meetings.\n\nThe Benefits:\nCompetitive compensation aligned with industry standards\n\nEmployer Paid Medical Plan with HRA contribution (eligibility requirements)\n\nDental, Vision, and Life Insurance\n\nFlex Spending Account (FSA)\n\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\n\nCompany-paid short and long-term disability coverage\n\nPaid parental leave\n\nGenerous PTO and paid holidays\n\nProfit sharing\n\nRobust Walbec training and professional development program\n\nOngoing career growth opportunities\n\nWe are an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action employer, and it is our practice to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants.
