As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will provide disciplined financial support, guidance, and oversight to business leaders across the enterprise. You’ll be directly involved in processing invoices, payments, and vendor records, while supporting standard practices in corporate guidelines, compliance, while ensuring quality and timeliness of all duties. You’ll proficiently utilize accounting systems and analytical techniques to manage invoice processing, payment management, vendor relations, and month-end close activities.\nLocation\nThis is an in-office position at our enterprise headquarters in Detroit, MI.\nPreference will be given to candidates currently located in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Candidates residing elsewhere in the contiguous United States must be willing to relocate at their own expense.\nResponsibilities\nProcessing: Daily entering and processing of all AP invoices. Support audit requests and maintain accurate records of all AP transactions.\nDocumentation: Review, validate, code, and process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy and compliance. - A/P Vendor Database, including new vendor setup and W-9 collection.\nReporting & Reconciliation: Assist with AP month-end close activities, including reconciliation and reporting. Collaborate on annual 1099 preparation and process monthly employee expense reports.\nCollection & Review: Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments. Reconcile vendor statements and outstanding amounts. Support prompt-pay discount programs.\nCompliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policy for dual signatures on checks.\nQualifications\nTo qualify for the role, you must have\nA bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.\nMinimum of 2 years of corporate accounting and/or payables experience.\nStrong communication skills, be a self-starter, and demonstrate accuracy.\nFlexibility and ability to multi-task.\nProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.\nIdeally, you’ll also have\nConstruction accounting experience.\nExperience with accounting software such as CMiC, Kofax, and Textura.\nEEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V\nWalbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity in the workforce.
