In this role, you will serve as a technical expert for mechanical and electrical construction activities, helping ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, applicable codes, accepted professional standards, and company quality expectations.\nYou will provide technical support from design and preconstruction through field installation, equipment startup, commissioning, and turnover. Working closely with owners, architects, engineers, project teams, and specialty trade contractors, you will solve complex field-related challenges, support quality control planning, and monitor construction for schedule performance and conformance to plans and specifications.\nYour technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and focus on quality will help project teams deliver safe, reliable, and efficient building systems while supporting successful startup and operational readiness.\nLocation:\nYou can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to our client projects on a long-term basis.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical support during design and preconstruction to assist owner and Architect Engineer.\nManage Equipment start up turnaround process V-Start (KAN-BAN).\nAssist in the implementation of the project’s QC Planning and inspection process.\nMonitor Field Construction of Electrical / Mechanical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents. \nProvide expert technical support to company personnel as required to resolve field construction or similar problems. May include interpretation of codes, and design of specialty equipment.\nDevelop, issue and maintain general instructions and guidelines for field construction methods utilizing current industry and company practices. \nDevelop and maintain current work controlling documents which set mandatory minimum requirements for work, authority, documentation and record requirements in accordance with applicable codes and contract requirements. \nReview A/E specifications, bid inquiries to insure technical and code requirements for material, equipment and field activities are met. \nContinuously research, evaluate, and recommend implementation of new (or improved) construction processes, equipment, material, techniques and methods as technology improves. \nParticipate in constructability reviews of design documents to help determine most cost effective and schedule efficient method of construction. \nManage Equipment start up and turnover process V-Start (KAN-BAN). \nProvides technical input to company functions such as estimating, controls, project management or other areas. \nQualifications\nTo qualify, you must have\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical construction, supported by professional industry training and demonstrated technical expertise.\nThorough knowledge of discipline-specific construction technology, equipment, materials, methods, applicable codes, quality requirements, and field practices.\nProven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and field construction challenges.\nStrong planning, scheduling, risk management, change management, and quality control capabilities.\nWorking knowledge of Lean construction principles, ISO requirements, cost participation and control, and construction administration.\nProficiency with common business applications and web-based project management systems.\nStrong written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and leadership skills.\nAbility to work on project assignments that may require temporary relocation, extended travel, or frequent visits to non-local job sites.\nValid U.S. driver's license and passport required.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 70% based on project and business needs.\nEEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V\nWalbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity in the workforce.
