With new leadership and a changing operating environment, they’re strengthening their architecture practice so the technology landscape stays coherent while delivery teams and integrators move quickly.\nThe Opportunity\nThis is architecture with real accountability. It isn’t a documentation role, and it isn’t a build role. It suits a solution architect who is comfortable influencing without authority. That means challenging a systems integrator’s design with evidence, keeping the conversation constructive, and knowing when enough analysis has been done to proceed.\nYou’ll be the architectural thread from discovery through delivery on a mix of internally and externally delivered work, covering integration, data, security and operability. You’ll work inside an established practice with clear principles, an Architecture Review Board and a Technical Design Authority, so you won’t be inventing governance from scratch, but you will help shape it as it matures. Industry experience helps. Curiosity and judgement matter more.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nEngaging at discovery to understand the business problem, constraints and outcomes, then shaping pragmatic end-to-end solutions.\nEvaluating options and making trade-offs, risks and consequences clear to technical and non-technical audiences.\nWriting Architecture Decision Records and taking significant decisions and exceptions to the Architecture Review Board and Technical Design Authority.\nReviewing and challenging solution architecture produced by systems integrators and vendors, and spotting gaps against Statements of Work.\nStaying engaged through implementation to protect architectural intent, while respecting Technical Leads’ ownership of detailed design.\nShaping non-functional requirements, including resilience, performance, recoverability, observability and supportability.\nProducing clear solution designs and diagrams, and contributing reusable patterns back to the wider practice.\nKeeping across emerging technology, including AI, and what it means for the architecture.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nExperience as a Solution Architect or comparable technical architect, designing end-to-end solutions from discovery through delivery.\nStrong practical experience across integration, APIs, event-driven architecture, data architecture and data flows.\nExperience shaping non-functional requirements and weighing options, trade-offs and dependencies.\nConfidence working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Technical Leads and delivery teams, with clear documentation and visualisation skills.\nExperience with ADRs and architecture governance, and with reviewing designs from integrators or vendors, is strongly regarded.\nExposure to ServiceNow, Dynamics 365, ESRI ArcGIS and/or AWS or comparable cloud platforms is a plus.\nRelevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience; architecture, cloud or integration certifications are a plus.\nBased in, or able to work from, Hamilton.\nWhy Apply\nGenuine architectural influence on a complex, live technology landscape, not a paper-pushing role.\nAn established practice with clear principles, patterns and proportionate governance, and room to shape how it evolves.\nA business with new leadership and a strong appetite to grow, with real support for learning a new domain.\nHow to Apply\nFor a confidential discussion about this role, contact Adam Roi at Walkersmith or apply with confidence via Seek.
