They provide accurate and timely financial information while working comfortably with project teams and leadership. They bring a collaborative, service-minded approach to support a design-driven studio. Curious and organized, they look for ways to improve processes and support a successful architecture firm as it grows.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nTo support the Director of Finance in carrying out the various responsibilities of the Finance department.\nPerform general ledger accounting/bookkeeping for the firm\nPrepare monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations\nAssist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including general ledger, income statement, balance sheet and other financial reports and analysis\nAssist in Director of Finance in budgeting and forecasting \nOversee Accounts Payable to ensure timely vendor payments and processing of credit card statements\nOversee Accounts Receivable functions, including preparation of monthly invoicing and posting of cash receipts\nSupport timesheets and expense report administration in Deltek Vantagepoint, as well as the administration of the firm’s credit card program\nPrepare semimonthly payroll and other payroll processes, including payroll journal entries, and 401k and profit sharing reconciliations\nAssist in the oversight of project budgets and perform ad hoc data analysis to support architectural project teams\nParticipate in the development, implementation and compliance with Finance, Accounting and Operational policies\nSupport filing taxes, audits and insurance renewals\nPerform ad hoc duties and analysis as required by Director of Finance and/or Firm Management\nSupport Director of Finance in the review of contract language and preparation of contracts \nIdentify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to the Director of Finance\n Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in related field\nMinimum of two years of related accounting experience; within A/E/C, design or other professional services industry is preferred\nStrong understanding of GAAP\nDemonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel\nExperience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar project accounting software is a plus\nPayroll experience preferred\nProficient in Google Workspace\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and a strong attention to detail are required\nAbility to work with sensitive financial information in a discreet manner\n Compensation and Benefits\nWalker Warner Architects offers a competitive compensation package including fully paid health benefits for employees, profit sharing, employer 401(k) contribution, generous paid time-off and flexible spending accounts, plus so much more.\nThe hiring base annual salary range for this position is $88,000-$100,000, full time exempt status.
