Within our Technology organization, including Walmart Global Tech and eCommerce, we build large-scale digital platforms and services that enable a seamless shopping experience across more than 3,400 stores, clubs, and digital platforms.\nAs a Staff Fullstack Software Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader responsible for designing, building, and evolving end-to-end technology products. You will ensure the development of resilient, secure, and highly scalable architectures that impact millions of users every day.\nWhat You’ll Do\nEnd-to-End Design and Architecture: Lead high-level and low-level design, including system diagrams, microservices architecture, and UI components. Select the most appropriate frameworks, libraries, and platforms aligned with business objectives and user needs.\n\nHigh-Performance Backend and API Development: Build, configure, and maintain distributed services, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high availability, low latency, and scalability.\n\nModern Frontend Development: Build intuitive, responsive, and reusable user interfaces in collaboration with Product and UX/UI teams, using modern web technologies such as React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and GraphQL.\n\nCloud Infrastructure and DevOps: Promote continuous integration and continuous deployment practices, including CI/CD, script and testing automation using TDD, container management with Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud services on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.\n\nOperational Excellence and Technical Debt Management: Lead root cause analyses using RCA and RCCA methodologies to resolve complex underlying issues, optimize application performance, proactively manage technical debt, and define effectiveness metrics such as Test Coverage, Deployment Frequency, and Change Failure Rate.\n\nTechnical Leadership and Mentorship: Promote clean code, security standards, and engineering best practices through code reviews. Provide technical guidance to other developers within the squad and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, UX, DevOps, Security, and Technical Program Management.\n\n Who We’re Looking For\nExperience: A strong track record of leading the design, development, and implementation of large-scale web applications and distributed systems within a fullstack environment.\n\nBackend Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework, as well as microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and asynchronous messaging systems such as Kafka. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases is also required.\n\nFrontend Expertise: Proven experience developing scalable web interfaces and reusable components using React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, state management tools such as Redux and React Query, Node.js, and the integration of services through GraphQL and REST APIs.\n\nCloud and Automation Ecosystem: Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native architectures in Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, version control with Git, monitoring and telemetry tools such as ELK and Splunk, and automated testing frameworks including JUnit, Jest, and Cucumber.\n\nEngineering Fundamentals: Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software architecture, with experience working under agile methodologies such as Scrum.\n\nLanguage: Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency, required to lead technical interactions with global teams.\n\nCompetencies: A continuous learning and self-directed mindset, strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, effective communication, the ability to influence without formal authority, planning skills, and a results-oriented approach.\n\n Our Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Privacy\nAt Walmart Mexico and Central America, we are committed to Diversity and Inclusion.
