Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, you will partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to deliver clear, compelling, and consistent communications that engage associates, strengthen culture, and reinforce Walmart’s position as a purpose-driven, customer-first retailer.\nThis role operates at the centre of the business - translating strategy into communication that drives alignment, builds trust, and delivers measurable impact across a complex, fast-moving organization.\nWhat you'll do...\nServe as a strategic communications advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, shaping how leaders communicate priorities, performance, and transformation. \nSupport executive communications strategy across Walmart Canada, ensuring leaders have aligned - but distinct and authentic - voices that reinforce enterprise priorities and reputation. \nAnticipate risks and opportunities, providing proactive counsel that strengthens leadership credibility and visibility. \nDevelop high-impact content including speeches, presentations, talking points, video scripts, social content, and digital communications for internal and external audiences. \nCoach senior leaders for key moments including town halls, associate forums, and high-profile events. \nBuild an “always-on” storytelling engine that highlights business momentum, innovation, and associate impact.\nCollaborate with global and market communications partners to ensure enterprise alignment while reflecting Canadian context and relevance. \nManage workflow with executive offices, ensuring seamless planning, prioritization, and execution. \nUtilize technology and emerging tools, including GenAI, to enhance reach, personalization, and efficiency. \nStay ahead of industry trends and best practices to continuously evolve Walmart Canada’s executive communications approach.\nOperate with precision in high-visibility, fast-paced environments with competing priorities. \nContribute to broader communications and enterprise initiatives as needed. \nWhat You Bring\nExceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, impactful messaging. \nStrong business acumen, with understanding of retail operations and corporate strategy. \nExperience supporting senior executives, including coaching and preparing leaders for high-stakes engagements. \nProven ability to influence and collaborate across a matrixed organization. \nStrong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. \nA proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment and attention to detail. \nComfort operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. \nCuriosity and a continuous improvement mindset, including comfort with emerging technologies. \nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. \n6+ years of experience in executive or corporate communications. \nExperience in retail, CPG, or large, complex organizations preferred.\nExperience leveraging digital tools and platforms, including AI-enabled communications, is an asset\nLeadership Expectations:\nRespect the Individual:\nDemonstrates and encourages respect for all;
