Job Description
About Team:
Data Platforms is responsible for running Walmart's enterprise data infrastructure at global scale. Managed SQL, noSQL database platforms like Cassandra, postgres, SQLserver, azure SQL on multi-cloud (on-prem, Azure, GCP) foot print. The Mission is to automation database operation life cycles seamlessly and integrate with various data tool to bring common standards across platforms. By building intuitive, standards-based DB abstraction layers -the team enables developers in the Walmart Global Tech organization to work efficiently across diverse database management systems deployed as PaaS and IaaS solutions. AI & ML solutions to achieve the mission and accelerate development, and ensure portability and scalability for Walmart’s applications, supporting our multi-cloud strategy with best-of-breed datastore technology landscape.
What You’ll Do:
Build Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, Microservices) for data platform automation
- Develop UI and self-service tools for Data activities
- Integrate AI/ML or LLM-based capabilities for predictive insights and intelligent remediation
- Automate provisioning, monitoring, scaling, upgrades and CI/CD pipelines to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Work closely with DBAs and Platform Engineers
- Develop cloud-native solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
What You’ll bring:
Strong Java development (Java 11+, Spring Boot)
- Full Stack experience (REST APIs + React/Angular or similar)
- Exposure to SQL and/or NoSQL databases Postgres, SQL, Cassandra etc.
- AI/ML or Generative AI integration experience (must-have)
- Experience building automation or internal platforms
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Cassandra, Cosmos DB, Kafka
- Python for AI/ML workflows
- Experience in data platform or infrastructure automation
Experience range will be between 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
