The associate works closely with senior team members and SMEs to troubleshoot issues, execute operational procedures, and provide timely support to internal customers.What you'll do...\nAbout the team\nOur team is dedicated to driving innovation and operational excellence within Walmart Global Tech. Associates on shift are responsible for ensuring that our critical batch flows run successfully and are completed before their Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Team members monitor over 250,000 jobs daily, working collaboratively to ensure all restarts and validations are performed with 100% accuracy prior to any restart. Additionally, associates maintain the stability and health of mainframe systems, implementing maintenance and upgrades as needed. ServiceNow is utilized for incident logging and tracking, supporting efficient resolution and documentation of operational issues\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform daily control room operations, including monitoring alerts, handling batch job abends, and managing incidents in accordance with SOPs.\n\nExecute Control-M activities such as holding, releasing, and restarting jobs.\n\nMonitor batch flows and escalate issues to ensure SLAs for critical processes are met.\n\nMonitor z/OS systems, review logs, and perform initial troubleshooting; engage next-level support when required.\n\nExecute operational procedures including IPLs (Initial Program Loads), maintenance implementations, and task restarts (bounce activities).\n\nMonitor system health using tools such as Chronos and report issues to senior leads or SMEs as needed.\n\nCreate, update, and manage incident tickets and RITMs in ServiceNow, ensuring all tickets are accurately updated before shift end.\n\nProvide support to data centers (DCs), including troubleshooting batch processing issues and resolving printer-related problems.\n\nSupport and facilitate EDIM (Data Center Power Outage activities) and related operational events.\n\nHandle customer support requests via phone queue, email, and chat platforms (Zoom, Teams, Slack) while meeting response SLAs.\n\nFollow established escalation procedures and SOPs for issue management and resolution.\n\nMaintain proper documentation and communicate issues effectively during shift handovers.\n\nWhat You’ll bring\n1-3 years of experience in technology operations, control room, or system administration.\n\nBasic knowledge of mainframe environments (z/OS) and batch processing concepts.\n\nExperience with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).\n\nFamiliarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work in a 24x7 shift-based environment.\n\nExposure to mainframe tools and utilities.\n\nBasic understanding of JCL (Job Control Language).\n\nExperience supporting data center operations.\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as Chronos.\n\nExperience using collaboration tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.\n\nAbility to work effectively in a team and escalate issues appropriately.\n\nAttention to detail\n\nProblem-solving ability\n\nMultitasking and time management\n\nCommunication and teamwork\n\nAbility to follow processes and SOPs\n\nCustomer support orientation\n\n24/7 operational support environment with rotating shifts\n\nFast-paced, high-availability support setting\n\nInteraction with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams\n\nAbout Walmart Global Tech\nImagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
