Continuous learning and innovation are encouraged to address complex data challenges, ensuring robust data governance, security, and compliance while enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support business analytics and reporting needs.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and translate them into effective data models and solutions.\nImplement data integration and ingestion strategies using cloud and big data technologies such as Apache Spark and data lakes.\nEnsure data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards throughout the data lifecycle.\nOptimize data storage, transformation, and retrieval processes to enhance performance and scalability.\nDevelop and test code for data processing, supporting deployment and documentation efforts.\nStay current with emerging data engineering trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.\nWhat you'll bring:\nExtensive experience in data engineering across multiple platforms.\nStrong proficiency in Scala and Spark for data processing, analytics, and building scalable pipelines.\nPractical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, GCS, and Dataproc, along with near real-time data ingestion using Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming.\nStrong working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL systems, with an in-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.\nProficiency in Git/version control, CI/CD pipelines, workflow schedulers like Airflow, and working with large-scale datasets.\nFamiliarity with BI/visualization tools like Tableau or Looker. • Hands-on exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI is a strong plus!\nAt Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
