They will perform review of enclosure systems for new construction, renovation, and restoration projects. The qualified individual will investigate and determine the service life of building enclosure assemblies. They will perform enclosure review to assess air infiltration, rain water control, heat transfer, and vapor transmission. They will perform building performance analysis including evaluate day-lighting, solar heat gain, thermal energy transfer, and holistic integration of the enclosure with building mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems.\nA sound technical background and excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A technical background in CADD and building performance modeling software is required.\nSpecific Job Responsibilities will include:\nLead projects with team of internal consultants\nAssist Senior Project Managers with project tasks\nPerform project management duties\nFacilitate client meetings\nPrepare technical presentations for client meetings\nPrepare proposals for new project pursuits\nReview enclosure details and specifications prepared by other consultants\nWork closely with architects and contractors to develop high performance details\nResearch building codes and industry standards\nWrite assessment reports\nPerform field investigations, including water leakage, non-destructive testing, travel required\nPerform modeling of enclosure assemblies using different software\nAnalyze proposed repair/design options\nDesign and draft repair drawings and details\nPrepare construction documents such as repair drawings and specifications\nObserve construction and installation of repairs/designs in the field, including quality assurance testing\nPrepare site visit reports and meeting minutes\nInteract with project clients, sub-consultants, and repair contractors\nQualifications\n3-10+ years’ experience in building enclosure design, review, and assessments\nProfessional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)\nM.S. in Civil Engineering, M.S. in Architectural Engineering, or Master of Architecture in Building Science/Building Enclosures/ Historic Preservation.\nHaving an RRO/RRC/RWC is a plus.\n·Experience in building enclosure design, repair, and retrofit and the integrated design and delivery of high performance buildings.\nExperience with exterior wall, below-grade waterproofing, and roofing assemblies. \nUnderstanding of building science and thermal analysis concepts as well as a knowledge of modeling building performance and sustainability.\nDemonstrated strength in providing excellent customer service.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nSkills should include:\nMicrosoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)\nComputer Aided Drafting/Design (AUTOCAD, REVIT, Rhino, Grasshopper)\nStrong technical, written and verbal communication\nAbility to multi-task and meet tight deadlines\nExperience with building performance modeling, software preferred, including some or all of the following: ECOTECT, VASARI, ENERGYPLUS, EQUEST, DESIGNBUILDER, DIVA, IES-VE, THERM, SKETCHUP, WUFI\nExpertise with exterior wall systems\n·Expertise with roofing assemblies\nFamiliarity with building structural systems\nExperience with working on suspended scaffolding and vertical heights\nWalter P Moore is an equal opportunity employer and provides all of its employees with a competitive compensation and benefits package.\nOverview\nWalter P Moore is an international company of engineers, architects, innovators, and creative people who solve some of the world’s most complex structural and infrastructure challenges.
