A Project Manager bears primary responsibility for properly executing the project management systems for each project under their direction. They manage a team of professionals, set direction, outline goals, and execute the project plan. A project manager’s roles include contract negotiation, planning, organization direction and control of projects, being a team leader through technical supervision and staff development and contributing to business development.\nResponsibilities:\nManages Projects Ensuring that all Production, Quality, Client Satisfaction, and Budgetary Objectives are Met\nConducts needs assessment with client to determine project scope and requirements\nAttends kick-off meetings to explain design options and gathers information related to schedule and budget\nDevelops project plans and budgets including staffing and resource needs\nCoordinates project delivery with client, internal and external team members\nPlans and leads internal and external project meetings\nCollaborates with architects, contractors, and other engineering consultants to develop engineering solutions \nCoordinates and guides preparation of construction documents with drafters, modelers, designers, clients, and internal quality control staff\nCommunicates, coordinates, and interacts with clients, consultants, and team members regarding project information\nOversees designs, reviews project specifications, and interprets applicable codes and industry standards\nGuides/assists other modelers regarding issues such as codes, design criteria, and software\nReviews assessment and design task status against budget and schedule requirements \nConducts regular quality-control checks of own or others’ work as assigned\nResolves project issues (e.g., technical, budget, schedule, billing, etc.)\nMonitors project staff and provides direction/ quality control as required\nMonitors project profitability through financial reports and financial review meetings\nPrepares and maintains appropriate project tracking tools, including work plans, s-curves, % completes, backlog, A/R collections, etc.\nMonitors staffing/resource needs and reports to Team Director\nManages workload distribution and project resources\nPromotes our Extraordinary Client Experience (ECX), by building effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations\nPerforms Other Functions as Needed\nQualifications\n10+ years experience in the construction industry with 5+ related to steel modeling/ detailing\nExcellent written and verbal communication\nStrong organizational skills\nDemonstrated ability to engage individuals and teams to complete tasks or projects.\nAbility to mentor and lead individuals and teams, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives\nDemonstrated career growth that includes experience working on design teams for a variety of building or project types\nStrong client-service attitude with ability to multi-task and accomplish multiple priorities\nStrong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment\nOverview\nWalter P Moore is an international company of engineers, architects, innovators, and creative people who solve some of the world’s most complex structural and infrastructure challenges.
