We are a small team, and every engineer owns a large part of the product.\nYou will be our first network engineer. This is a hands-on role with full ownership of design, deployment, automation and operations. You will work directly with the founders and the platform engineering team.\nWhat you'll do\nDesign, deploy and operate leaf-spine datacenter networks, including the edge and the out-of-band network.\nRun the internet edge: BGP with transit providers and peers, routing security, and DDoS protection.\nLead new site turn-ups from planning to handover: cabling plans, device staging, validation and acceptance testing.\nManage network configuration as code, with a source of truth, templates, automated checks and zero-touch provisioning.\nDirect remote hands, cabling vendors, carriers and hardware vendors. Our sites have no on-site staff.\nBuild monitoring and alerting for the network. Use the data for capacity planning.\nWork with platform engineers on Linux host networking for our virtualization stack.\nWrite the designs, procedures and runbooks that the rest of the team relies on.\nTake part in the on-call rotation.\nWhat you'll bring\n7+ years in network engineering, mostly on production datacenter, cloud or service provider networks.\nExperience building a datacenter or PoP network from the ground up at least once.\nStrong knowledge of BGP, ECMP, leaf-spine fabrics, link aggregation and fast convergence.\nExperience running an internet edge: transit and peering turn-ups, IRR and RPKI, and traffic engineering.\nProduction experience with at least one major switching platform, such as Arista, Juniper, Cisco or SONiC.\nStrong automation skills with Python and Ansible or similar tools. Config lives in Git.\nGood knowledge of the physical layer: optics, DAC and fiber cabling, structured cabling and cross-connects.\nComfort on the Linux command line and a working understanding of the Linux network stack.\nClear written English. A technician who has never seen the site can follow your procedure.\nNice to have\nExperience at a cloud provider, CDN, carrier or internet exchange.\nNetBox or another network source of truth.\nStreaming telemetry and flow monitoring, such as gNMI and sFlow.\nKVM and virtual machine networking, NAT at scale, nftables.\nIPv6 in production.\nParticipation in SANOG, INNOG, APNIC or a similar operator community.\nWhat we offer\nHigh equity and compensation.\nFull ownership of the network at an early stage of the company.\nRemote work from anywhere in India.\nOccasional international travel for site builds.\nThe process is quick and we review every application.
