We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent - want to join the ride?\nWärtsilä is looking for a competent Engineer, Spare Parts and Bearings This is a permanent opportunity, and its preferred location is Toyama, Japan.\nAs an Engineer, Spare Parts and Bearings, you will proactively take ownership of responsibilities within the Engineering function and contribute to cross-functional activities where Engineering can add value, supporting the continued growth and strengthening of the Shaft Line Solutions business\nWhat will you be doing?\nAs an Engineer, Spare Parts and Bearing, your work will focus on the following responsibilities\nDeveloping cost reduction initiatives for existing products and coordinating internally with relevant stakeholders.\nDesigning bearing products for naval vessels.\nCreating production drawings for aftermarket products and components.\nManaging customer relations by communicating with customers on-site or remotely, as needed, to clarify technical issues related to individual projects and general matters.\nCollaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address day-to-day engineering needs and challenges.\nTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have:\nBSc in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.\nStrong communication skills.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience using CAD software and other design tools, including both 2D and 3D applications.\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.\nAbility to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives.\nFluent Proficiency in written and spoken Japanese.\nBasic Proficiency in written and spoken English.\nManufacturing experience with a fundamental understanding of metal machining processes, preferably including turning, grinding, and other machining methods related to our products.\nExperience leading Quality Control activities, including the ability to assess current conditions, identify issues, and implement effective corrective actions.\nExperience in cost estimation and cost calculation is considered an advantage.\nExperience leading or participating in development projects is considered an advantage.\nContact & next steps\nPlease submit your application before the deadline through our Careers portal.
