We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent - want to join the ride?\nWe are now looking for a Field Service Engineer - (Energy) in the US to join our team working for a better future.\nWhat will you be doing?\nAs a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical engineering support and execute field service activities to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. You will perform hands-on technical tasks in the field, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, supporting the reliable operation of customer equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.\nYou will work closely with experienced service colleagues, customers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues, coordinate on-site activities, and ensure service work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. In addition, you will contribute to continuous improvement of field service processes by providing feedback based on field experience and equipment performance.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform technical field service tasks, including advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and issue resolution in accordance with established procedures.\nSupport the functionality and reliability of customer equipment by identifying technical issues and contributing to corrective actions together with the service team.\nProvide technical support and guidance to customers during service activities, ensuring a positive service experience.\nCollaborate with customers, external stakeholders, and cross-functional internal teams to coordinate on-site activities and ensure timely service delivery.\nEscalate complex technical issues as required and support senior engineers or superintendents during service execution.\nContribute to the continuous development of field service processes by providing feedback on service execution and equipment performance.\nMaintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation in line with company policies and customer requirements.\nEnsure all work is performed in compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards.\nTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have:\nHigh integrity and accountability.\nA strong customer-focused mindset and sense of responsibility for assigned tasks.\nPractical technical knowledge of field service operations and willingness to develop technical expertise.\nExperience working with Wärtsilä engines or similar large-bore engine platforms (preferred but not mandatory for junior level).\nAbility to work effectively with colleagues and customers from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.\nGood organizational and prioritization skills in field environments.\nA team-player mindset with the ability to work independently under guidance, including in remote locations.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.\nPhysical & Mental / Reasoning Demands:\nThese are the physical and mental requirements of the position as it is typically performed:\nVision: Close; Distance; Depth.\nColor perception (Red, Green, Amber).\nHearing / Listening.\nClear speech.\nManual dexterity (hand and finger).\nAbility to mount and dismount equipment or vehicles.\nPushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.\nLifting up to 45 pounds, multiple times per shift.\nCarrying up to 25 pounds, multiple times per shift.\nDriving (local and long-distance).\nAbility to stand, bend, squat, and sit for prolonged periods.\nClimbing and maintaining balance.\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:\nWorks alone and with others.\nFace-to-face and verbal contact with others.\nIndoor and outdoor environments.\nExposure to extreme heat and cold.\nNoise and vibration.\nMechanical equipment and moving objects.\nPressurized systems.\nHigh places.\nFumes, odors, dust, and hazardous materials.\nTravel Requirements:\nThis position requires approximately 80% travel, including domestic and occasional international assignments to customer power plants. Extended periods away from the primary residence should be expected. For applicants that reside in NY, the salary/salary range/hourly wage range is 30/h - 46/h.\nThe amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year.
