Want to join the ride?\n\nPosition Summary\nFuel Control Module (FCM) Refurbishment is responsible for coordinating the refurbishment of Fuel Control Modules (FCMs) at the Lihir power plant. This role will oversee the project lifecycle from engineering design and drawing modifications through implementation, commissioning support, and documentation. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful refurbishment of five additional FCM units by leveraging the technical knowledge and lessons learned from the successful pilot refurbishment project.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate and monitor all FCM refurbishment activities, ensuring project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.\nDevelop, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, piping layouts, and engineering documentation required for refurbishment activities.\nProvide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on Fuel Control Module systems, piping arrangements, and refurbishment requirements.\nManage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely execution of project activities.\nSupport installation, testing, commissioning, and performance verification of refurbished FCM units.\nMonitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.\nMaintain accurate project records, engineering documents, design revisions, and technical reports.\nEnsure compliance with company safety standards, engineering practices, and site operational requirements.\nFacilitate effective communication between engineering teams, operations personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders.\nPromote knowledge transfer and project continuity by applying lessons learned from previous refurbishment activities.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nExperience in engineering project coordination, maintenance projects, or power plant operations.\nProven experience working with contractors and subcontractors within industrial or energy environments.\nFamiliarity with fuel control systems, piping systems, and power generation equipment is highly desirable.\nExperience in project documentation, technical reporting, and engineering change management.\n\nTechnical Competencies\nStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering drawing development.\nKnowledge of piping design, system modifications, and engineering documentation.\nUnderstanding of fuel control systems and power plant operations.\nAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.\nCompetent in project planning, contractor coordination, and execution monitoring.\n\nKey Skills\nProject coordination and stakeholder management.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nProblem-solving and analytical thinking.\nAttention to detail and documentation control.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project deadlines.\nLast application date: 23/09/2026\nAt Wärtsilä we value, respect and embrace all our differences, and are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal employment opportunities; everyone can be their true self and succeed based on their job-relevant merits and abilities.\nPlease note that according to Wärtsilä policy, voluntary consent for a security check may be required from candidates being considered for this position, depending on the applicable country.\nThis is Wärtsilä\nWärtsilä is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets.
