This role ensures strong coordination among ITS, Finance Information Systems (FIS), and Human Resources Business Information Systems (HRBIS) on ERP initiatives, release management, and key strategic decisions. Acting as a liaison, leader, and subject matter expert, the ERP Application Development and Support Manager supports organizational objectives while continually enhancing Workday functionality.\nThe position oversees a small technical team and works closely with two specialized support teams. Given Workday’s semiannual major release schedule, the role places significant emphasis on strategic planning and release management, in addition to roadmap execution. The manager leads initiatives associated with major roadmap items, guiding them through structured processes and release events to ensure smooth, effective implementation. This role also provides regular reports and presentations to executive leadership, offering clear updates on roadmap progress, upcoming initiatives, and potential risks or challenges that may impact planning or delivery.\nIdeal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):\nKnowledge of:\nERP or major system governance principles and best practices.\nERP or Workday functionality, release schedules, and roadmap processes.\nIT tenant management and ERP integration across ITS, FIS, and HRBIS.\nProject management methodologies and structured release management processes.\nOrganizational strategic planning and technology alignment.\nSkill in:\nCoordinating cross-functional teams and facilitating collaboration across technical and business groups.\nStrong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and leading complex initiatives.\nAnalyzing and presenting technical or strategic information to executive leadership.\nGuiding teams through major release events and structured implementation processes.\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal.\nAbility to:\nLead, mentor, and manage technical teams.\nServe as a subject matter expert and liaison between technical and business stakeholders.\nAnticipate, identify, and communicate risks or challenges that could impact roadmap delivery.\nPrioritize work effectively in an environment driven by semiannual release cycles.\nAlign ERP activities and initiatives with organizational objectives and long-term strategy.\nAbout the Department/Division:\nWashington County’s Information Technology Services (ITS) Department is a centralized organization of over 80 professionals delivering enterprise technology solutions that support critical County services and operations. ITS partners with departments across the County to provide reliable, secure, and future-ready technology services. The Enterprise Systems Division supports major systems used by employees and residents across the County.
