This role will provide leadership, supervision, and strategic coordination to ensure efficient workflows and reliable access to library materials across Washington County.\nThe Collections Supervisor has a key leadership role in developing and providing oversight of a systemwide transition that will centralize collection development across a 16-library cooperative starting in July 2027. This position will build strong working relationships across the cooperative and lead with excellent communication skills, data-informed decision-making, and project management experience.\nThis role is responsible for providing collaborative strategic direction for how physical and digital collections are selected, managed, and distributed across the cooperative. Working with the Collections and Technical Services Manager, this position will engage in collection analysis, provide resource oversight, build strong vendor relations, and work closely with the WCCLS Collections team.\nKey responsibilities include:\nSupervising a Collections team that includes four Selection Librarians and one Senior Library Assistant\nLeading centralized collection development and the Library Mail Service program\nOverseeing an estimated $6 million annual collections budget\nGuiding the selection and distribution of approximately 200,000 new items per year within a systemwide collection of nearly 1.4 million items\nUsing data, community insight, and collaborative decision-making to support consistent access and service across diverse communities\nThis role is well suited to a collaborative, systems-thinking leader who values data-informed selection, creating new workflows and processes that center patron experience, and creating strong partnerships with library stakeholders.\n Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):\nKnowledge of:·\nDevelopment, implementation, and evaluation of program systems\nSupervision, training, and personnel management\nProgram administration, budgeting, and quality improvement\nUsing qualitative and quantitative data for planning and decision-making\nAbility to:\nCommunicate clearly in writing and verbally\nLead and support staff through training, documentation, and guidance\nPlan, assign, and evaluate work effectively\nAnalyze data to support strategic collection and budget decisions\nCollaborate successfully across teams and partner libraries\nRole-specific knowledge:\nAdvanced knowledge of collection development, evaluation, and de-selection practices\nKnowledge of Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) format and Dewey Decimal Classification\nData collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making\nKnowledge of allocating, monitoring, and forecasting budgets\nExperience using integrated library systems (ILS) for collection-related functions\nExperience using other relevant collection data analytics software for collection analysis\nExperience evaluating and recommending digital resources\nExperience working with library vendors for digital and physical materials\nTo review the complete classification, including the full list of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position, use this link: Senior Program Coordinator\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in a health, social service, business, or related field*; AND three (3) years of work experience in program administration, development, evaluation, and/or contract administration.
