The job is based out of Bishop, but this person may be asked to work out of our Mammoth location occasionally. Employees are compensated for travel in those situations.\nDrivers interested in stable, year-round employment encouraged to apply.\nThe shift will be Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.\nStart time is 5:30 AM and runs until the route is complete, typically 8-10 hours per day.\nStarting wage range will be $26.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience.\nWHAT WE OFFER:\nFull-time, year-round work\n\nSafety bonuses\n\nYearly boot allowance\n\nGreat family benefits - medical, dental, vision\n\n401k with company match\n\nPaid time off\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAbility to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.\n\nAbility to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.\n\nPerform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.\n\nAbility to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.\n\nCourteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:\nExtensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds.\n\nWork environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.\n\nThe employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.\n\nMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:\nValid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement required.\n\nClean driving record.\n\nAbility to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
