The ideal candidate is comfortable owning work end-to-end, from design through productionandsupport.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build,and support cloud-native solutions in AWSusing secure and scalable architecture patterns.\n\nDevelop backend microservices that power conversational and voice AIapplications.\n\nBuild modern userinterfacesthat create a positive customer experience\n\nIntegrate applications with third-party APIs, SaaS platforms, telephony,andCCaaS/CPaaS platforms.\n\nWork with key components of voice AI applications, such asstreaming audio, barge-in handling, retries, fallbacks, and transcript capture.\n\nDevelop as part of an Agile team, utilizingCI/CD, automated testing,andIaC templates.\n\nImplement logging, metrics, alerting, and health checks to keep production services observable and reliable.\n\nTroubleshoot applicationand infrastructure issues across the stack.\n\nQualifications\n5-8 years of professional software development experienceusing .NET, C#, and Python\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field - or equivalent work experience.\n\nStrongunderstanding of REST APIs, microservices, and application integration patterns.\n\nExperience with cloud services and container-based deployments(AWS-preferred).\n\nExperience with agentic AI development tools and frameworks.\n\nProficiency with at least one relational databasetechnology.\n\nExperience with React and/or Angular, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling.\n\nFamiliarity with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tooling and automated testing practices.\n\nExperience with conversational or voice AI systems (e.g. streaming audio, turn-taking, LLM orchestration).\n\nFamiliarity withvoice AIevaluationmetrics andframeworks\n\nDisciplined approach to security and compliance, including handling of PII, customer account data, secrets, least privilege, auditability, and PCI-sensitive boundaries.\n\nSuccessful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.\nWaste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
