Mason County Garbage, a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a reliable and motivated Roll Off Garbage Truck Driver to join our team in Shelton, WA.\nPrevious waste industry experience is a big plus-but not required. We’re happy to train the right person!\nThe schedule is Monday-Friday, starting at 6 AM, and occasional Saturdays as needed. You’ll average about 45 hours per week (overtime eligible) and be home every night!\nThe starting pay range for this position is $27.75/hour with annual pay increases and bonus opportunities.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSafely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.\nRead route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.\nPerform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.\nPerform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.\nOperate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.\nInteract courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:\nRequires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.\nWork environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.\nExposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as fumes and vibrations.\nMinimum Job Requirements:\nValid Class A CDL preferred, Class B acceptable\nClean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)\nAbility to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions (preferred, not required)\nMinimum 1 year of relevant driving experience\nAbility to read, write, and communicate in English\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\n Safety-Sensitive - YES\nTo be considered for any of our current openings, you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com.
