Position Summary

Watchmaker Genomics is inviting applications for an on-site, full-time ERP Application Engineer based in our Boulder office. This position reports to the ERP Enterprise Solution Engineer in Cape Town and is the primary local ERP support resource for Boulder users. The role provides hands-on application support, helps users execute approved business processes and ensures operational issues are resolved quickly or escalated with clear business context.

The position also captures new business use cases and requirements arising from daily operations, NPD and customer-specific needs, translates them into clear business requirements, and works with the Cape Town ERP Enterprise Solution Engineer for technical design and implementation. The role supports UAT, rollout readiness, training, hypercare and process adoption, while partnering with MDM where master-data actions are required; it does not prepare or execute DMT uploads.

Responsibilities:

On-Site ERP Support and Business Process Assistance

• Provide first-line functional ERP support to Boulder users across manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, finance, quality and customer operations;
• Troubleshoot daily application and process issues, resolve known problems and escalate platform, integration, infrastructure or performance issues to the ERP Enterprise Solution Engineer;
• Help users follow approved processes and identify recurring workarounds, process drift or training gaps.

Requirements, NPD and Continuous Improvement

• Gather and document new business use cases, operational gaps and enhancement requests, including needs arising from NPD, customer onboarding and customer-specific requirements;
• Translate user needs into structured business requirements, business rules, process flows and acceptance criteria for technical design by the ERP Enterprise Solution Engineer;
• Work with process owners and super users to clarify priorities and validate that proposed solutions address the actual business need.

Testing, Rollout and Training

• Develop realistic business test scenarios, support UAT and CSV activities, document defects and retest fixes;
• Coordinate Boulder readiness for new modules, fixes and process changes, including training, job aids, floor support, cutover and hypercare;
• Drive user adoption and provide refresher training based on help-desk trends and process observations.

Data, Reporting and MDM Support

• Identify master-data issues and engage the Master Data Management team with the required business context; this role does not prepare or execute DMT uploads;
• Help users use standard ERP reports, BAQs and dashboards, gather new reporting requirements and validate report, label and dashboard outputs against business expectations.

Incident, Process and Compliance Support

• Own first response and functional triage for Boulder ERP incidents, document impact and evidence, and maintain user-facing knowledge content;
• Support local control routines, downtime procedures and controlled back-entry activities during outages;
• Perform support, testing, requirements and training activities in accordance with approved SOPs, ISO13485/CSV controls, traceability and data-integrity requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• ERP Application Support: Hands-on experience supporting users in a manufacturing ERP; Epicor Kinetic experience is strongly preferred.
• Business Process Knowledge: Practical understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, finance, quality and customer-facing ERP workflows.
• Requirements Analysis: Experience gathering business use cases, mapping processes and translating user needs into clear functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Operational Troubleshooting: Strong application-support, ticket-triage, evidence-gathering and escalation skills.
• Testing and Training: Experience with UAT, defect documentation, rollout support, user training and adoption activities.
• NPD and Regulated Operations: Experience supporting product launches, customer-driven changes or regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong service orientation and ability to work directly with end users;
• ERP transaction, navigation and functional process support;
• Business requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation;
• Structured incident triage, troubleshooting and escalation;
• UAT, defect documentation, training and rollout support;
• BAQ, dashboard, report, label and data-reconciliation literacy;
• Strong communication, organization and cross-site collaboration.

Additional information:

This position strengthens ERP adoption and operational support in Boulder while creating a clear functional-to-technical handoff to the Cape Town ERP Enterprise Solution Engineer. It is the local bridge between users and the global ERP technical owner, ensuring business needs are understood, documented, tested and successfully adopted

Education and Experience

• Bachelors in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required + 8-12 years relevant experience.
• With 5+ years proven experience in ERP application support, functional analysis, business systems or a similar role, with a degree or diploma in Information 

Compensation

The base compensation for the ERP Application Engineer role starts at $100,000- $130,000  + bonus + equity; actual pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience. Employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off, Holidays, employer covers 75% of base medical plan with buy-up options, EAP (employee assistance program), employer paid dental with a buy-up option, employer paid vision, employer paid $25,000 life/AD&D policy, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% match.
