Working closely with the Senior Product Manager, this role will drive growth through new product development, expansion into new applications, and proactive product lifecycle management. Product responsibilities may evolve as the portfolio and team grow. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and advanced genomics applications.\nThe successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and contribute directly to our company culture and success. The position provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in both product development and cross-functional management to complement a strong technical background.\nResponsibilities\nServe as an organizational expert and champion for the DNA NGS portfolio, with the flexibility to support and represent adjacent portfolios as needed. \nTranslate market and customer needs into prioritized product requirements, partnering with R&D to evaluate technical feasibility and make informed tradeoffs across customer value, development effort, commercial potential, and strategic fit.\nPartner with sales to engage with key customers and cultivate collaborations to drive innovative product solutions, penetrate key application areas, and support broader product adoption.\nTranslate customer, market, competitive, and technical insights into product strategy and differentiated value propositions, partnering with Product Marketing on positioning, messaging, commercialization, and sales enablement.\nManage all product management facets of product commercialization and lifecycle management, inclusive of but not limited to market assessments, global pricing strategies, documentation, sales training, and demand planning. \nManage cross-functional collaborations (R&D, Support, Sales, Quality, and Operations) to ensure successful implementation of product requirements and drive new product development to commercial launch.\nDevelop and execute product and application strategies for assigned portfolio areas, including market opportunity assessment, customer segmentation, competitive landscape, business case development, roadmap priorities, and lifecycle investment decisions.\nOwn lifecycle performance for assigned products, monitoring revenue, adoption, customer feedback, competitive dynamics, quality trends, and product performance to identify opportunities and proactively address risks.\nCreate and maintain competitive assessments, market trends, and product performance.\nLead portfolio communication and stakeholder alignment across the organization, including regular business reviews and leadership updates; proactively surface and escalate risks, issues, opportunities, tradeoffs, and decisions needed; and drive cross-functional accountability and resolution.\nPlease note: The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and other similar duties may be required from time to time.\nSkills and Requirements\nDemonstrated technical expertise in NGS workflows, including library preparation, sequencing, and data interpretation, with experience in core molecular biology techniques.\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nResults-oriented, with the ability to multitask, work at a high standard, perform consistently under pressure along with pre-determined deadlines, and work without supervision.\nStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as an effective member of a team.\nExcellent communication and personal task management skills and a high level of self-motivation and initiative.\nProven ability to influence & gain consensus in cross-functional teams, and to work effectively with customers, development, and sales teams.\nExperience in presenting technical information to groups with various scientific backgrounds.\nCreative and critical thinking skills to anticipate customer needs and proactively solve problems.\nTrack record of success defining and launching products. \nExperience in documenting customer/product requirements and applying risk-informed decision-making within a quality management system.\nThis position requires approximately 20% travel (domestic and international).\nEducation and Experience\nMSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or an associated scientific field required.\nMinimum of 4 years industry relevant experience, including R&D.\nProduct Management experience is preferred and customer-facing roles considered a plus.\nExperience being part of a new product development core team or project required.\nCompensation\nThe base compensation for the Product Manager, NGS role starts at $110,000 - $130,000 + bonus + equity; actual pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience.
