In this Senior Scientist position, you will work with a diverse team of scientists and engineers across the organization, apply yourself as a highly influential individual contributor, and have a major impact on the world’s newest therapeutics.\nResponsibilities\nResearch and develop new inorganic, polymeric, and hybrid materials for diverse chromatographic applications. \nFunctionalize silica and polymer-based materials for the characterization and quantitation of biological molecules.\nConduct site-specific modification of constructs to allow orientation directed conjugation.\nCollaborate with engineers, analytical scientists, and manufacturing teams to ensure product performance requirements and meet development timelines. \nMonitor scientific advancements and industry trends; identify and pursue intellectual property opportunities. \nMaintain laboratory equipment and rigorous documentation practices.\nComply with environment, safety, health, and quality standards. \nQualifications\nPhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline with 1 or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, including project leadership.\nExpertise in biomolecular interactions, such as the protein-protein interactions or biomolecule-to-surface interactions is desired. \nExperience with different solid surface bioconjugation approaches and the quantification of biomolecules immobilized to solid surface.\nKnowledge of liquid chromatography principles and material characterization.\nKnowledge in the areas of bioprocessing, biomolecular interactions, recombinant engineering, protein expression, site specific protein modification, and biomolecular characterization approaches is a plus.\nAbility to work independently following high level guidance and the ability to set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines.\nWillingness to learn different techniques, have a positive attitude and an innate collaborative spirit\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nCompany Description\nWaters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, dedicated to accelerating the benefits of pioneering science through analytical technologies, informatics, and service.
