We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!\nThe role\nAs an IT Engineer at Watershed, you’ll own the internal technology and SaaS platforms our teams rely on every day and shape how employees experience IT across our global offices. You’ll support employees directly while designing agent-driven workflows, integrations, and self-service resources that reduce toil and turn repetitive tickets into well-engineered systems that make your colleagues’ lives meaningfully better.\nAs we grow globally, you’ll have real ownership over the systems you build and a direct hand in shaping where IT goes next, partnering closely with teammates in San Francisco and London. This position is based in our San Francisco office, where you’ll work four days per week as part of our in-office culture.\nYou will:\nDesign and implement scalable IT solutions that enhance employee productivity and security across our global offices\n\nManage and maintain our core IT systems, including Okta, Kolide, Iru (formerly Kandji), Google Workspace, Notion, and Slack\n\nDevelop and optimize our global asset management processes for employee devices throughout their lifecycle\n\nBuild and maintain reliable automations and integrations across our IT systems, reducing repetitive work in onboarding, access management, device operations, and support\n\nOwn and improve employee onboarding, role change, and offboarding lifecycle processes through reliable provisioning, access controls, automation, and device workflows in partnership with People and Security\n\nPartner with Security, People, Workplace, Engineering, and our external IT support provider to deliver reliable services and a thoughtful employee experience\n\nServe as an escalation point for elevated hardware, software, and network-related issues, as well as occasional in-person support within the San Francisco office\n\nMaintain a secure, reliable macOS fleet through device provisioning, configuration, patching, endpoint protection, and compliance monitoring\n\nManage and optimize our conference room technology and A/V systems\n\nTurn recurring issues into lasting improvements through root-cause analysis, clear run books, employee-facing guidance, and self-service tools; maintain IT policies and procedures that support consistent service delivery\n\nUse AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, system architecture design and workflow development\n\nAdminister and support our AI platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT, Dust.tt, and Notion AI, managing access, configuration, integrations, and secure adoption across the company\n\nYou might be a good fit if:\nYou have 3+ years of increasing experience and responsibility in IT at high-growth technology companies\n\nYou have hands-on experience administering Okta, including SSO, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows, and understand least-privilege access\n\nYou have hands-on experience using AI to improve your work, can explain where it has helped, and know when to verify its output or use a different approach\n\nYou’re comfortable building scripts, using APIs, and workflow automation to solve operational problems, and you test, document, and maintain what you build\n\nYou have experience managing and supporting Mac-based environments\n\nYou have experience with asset management systems and lifecycle management for employee devices\n\nYou're knowledgeable about IT security best practices and compliance requirements\n\nYou have excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\n\nYou're an effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nYou have experience supporting a breadth of modern SaaS applications\n\nYou have experience managing vendor relationships and external service providers\n\nYou're passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and find fulfillment in helping others succeed\n\nNice to have:\nFirst-hand experience building custom tools and applications to solve internal business challenges\n\nExperience with zero-trust security frameworks\n\nKnowledge of corporate networking fundamentals and troubleshooting\n\nFamiliarity with office setup and infrastructure planning\n\nDirect experience with IT compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO)\n\nIndustry certifications related to our technology stack (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace, Cisco)\n\nMust be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)\nWatershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week.
