Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation - and we have a dynamic future ahead.\nScope of Position\nThis technically skilled individual, as part of the Water Quality Team within Watts Applied Solutions, serves as a key technical resource bridging engineering, product documentation, operations support, and customer-facing technical assistance across a portfolio of smart water treatment and filtration products, including the SmartGuard RO platform, CTF/CLCH filtration systems, and related digital controls products.\nThis role contributes to the successful development, launch, and ongoing support of products by working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, service, purchasing, and external partners/customers. The position operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to drive improvements in product performance, technical documentation, and support processes within the job area.\nThis position reports to the VP of Engineering and Development. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Myers, Florida.\nPrimary Job Duties and Responsibilities\nSupport ongoing product development for reverse osmosis, filtration systems, UV disinfection, no-salt conditioners, and other smart product expansions.\n\nPerform electrical and electronic testing, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware and firmware to support product performance and reliability.\n\nEvaluate and recommend components, technologies, and market alternatives based on technical requirements, product goals, and operational needs.\n\nLead or support the transition of products from Engineering into Operations, ensuring readiness for manufacturing, documentation, and field implementation.\n\nProvide technical solutions and advanced troubleshooting support for service teams, operations, and end customers.\n\nCreate, maintain, and improve technical drawings, operation manuals, design-engineering guides, and product documentation.\n\nDevelop and deliver technical collateral and presentations for customer training, internal management reviews, and technical briefings.\n\nPrepare, review, and refine technical sales and field service documentation for manufacturing, purchasing, field teams, and customer use.\n\nWork cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external parties to resolve product, documentation, and application issues at an operational level.\n\nIdentify and implement improvements to processes, systems, and technical documentation to enhance product support, team effectiveness, and overall job area performance.\n\nAssume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by VP Engineering and Development or other Company management.\n\nResponsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).\n\nTravel Requirements: up to 25% for training, product testing and debug, customer startup visits, and team collaboration at other Watts facilities.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field.\n\n5+ years of experience in a technical role involving electrical, controls and system engineering.\n\nExperience supporting end customers, field service teams, and internal stakeholders with technical troubleshooting, product guidance, and issue resolution.\n\nFoundational understanding of analog and digital electrical circuits and control systems.\n\nExperience with electrical enclosure design, component layout, and wiring of microcontroller-based systems.\n\nHands-on experience with electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and protocol analyzers.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to internal teams, leadership, customers, and external partners.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision while managing multiple priorities and supporting key projects or processes within the job area.\n\nUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.\n\nMust successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in reverse osmosis, filtration systems, uv disinfection, no-salt conditioners, and other water quality related products.\n\nWorking knowledge of plumbing systems, fluid control components (pumps, valves, sensors), and basic hydraulic concepts.\n\nExperience with CAD Tools such as AutoCAD, Onshape, SolidWorks, or Inventor.\n\nExperience with PCB Design Tools such as Altium or OrCAD.\n\nProficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.\n\nExperience with programming languages such as C, C#, or Python.\n\nExperience with embedded firmware environments.\n\nProficient at soldering and electrical/electronic rework.\n\nGeneral Applicable Company Competencies \nCommitment to Watts’ values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency\n\nPunctuality and dependability\n\nAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions\n\nAdherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts\n\nMaintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.\n\nAdherence to Watts’ seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWhile performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Fort Myers location (Monday - Friday).
