HF Scientific, with primary responsibility for improving production processes, resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues, and ensuring products can be built safely, consistently, efficiently, and to established quality requirements.\nThe Production Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, Chemistry, Supply Chain, and Engineering to improve process capability, reduce manufacturing disruptions, maintain accurate production documentation, and implement engineering changes.\nSuccess in this role will be measured through improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, first-pass yield, and manufacturing process performance.\nThis position reports to the Quality and Production Engineer Manager and is on-site in Fort Myers, Florida.\nPrimary Job Duties and Responsibilities\nProvide daily engineering support to production teams, serving as a primary technical resource for manufacturing issues, product questions, and process-related challenges.\n\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve manufacturing problems using structured root cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving methods.\n\nDevelop, improve, validate, and maintain manufacturing processes, assembly methods, work instructions, fixtures, tooling, and production documentation.\n\nDrive improvements in safety, quality, first-pass yield, labor efficiency, throughput, lead time, and overall process capability.\n\nCollaborate with Quality and Production teams on nonconformances, corrective actions, process validations, and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.\n\nManage and support Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders, ensuring changes are properly evaluated, validated, documented, and implemented in production.\n\nMaintain and improve Bills of Material (BOMs), drawings, routings, specifications, and other manufacturing-related engineering documentation.\n\nEvaluate product and process changes for manufacturability, cost reduction, standardization, reliability, and production impact.\n\nDesign or modify fixtures, tooling, components, and manufacturing solutions using 2D and 3D CAD tools as needed.\n\nPlan and execute engineering trials, testing, data collection, and process validations to confirm proposed solutions before full implementation.\n\nMonitor manufacturing performance using metrics and KPIs, identify recurring losses or constraints, and lead actions to improve performance.\n\nSupport production line balancing, capacity analysis, time studies, standard work, workstation improvements, and manufacturing layout changes.\n\nParticipate in and lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.\n\nPartner with Supply Chain and suppliers as needed to address component-related production issues, manufacturability concerns, and technical requirements.\n\nSupport new product introductions and product transfers by ensuring production processes, documentation, tooling, training, and validation requirements are ready for manufacturing.\n\nAssume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the 0%\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or other relevant Engineering discipline required.\n\n3 + years of experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.\n\nProficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools such as Inventor or SolidWorks.\n\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.\n\nHands-on manufacturing mindset with the ability to work directly with operators, technicians, and production leadership to resolve issues.\n\nExperience developing, improving, and validating manufacturing processes, work instructions, fixtures, tooling, or production methods.\n\nAbility to interpret and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.\n\nWorking knowledge of engineering change control and configuration management processes.\n\nUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.\n\nMust successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience using manufacturing metrics and data to drive improvements in quality, productivity, yield, and delivery.\n\nFamiliarity with ERP systems, BOM management tools, and manufacturing data systems.\n\nExperience supporting new product introductions, product transfers, process validations, or manufacturing trials.\n\nExperience designing or modifying manufacturing fixtures, tooling, or components.\n\nLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification or demonstrated continuous improvement experience.\n\nExperience working within an ISO 9001 or other regulated quality system.\n\nBilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.\n\nGeneral Applicable Company Competencies \nCommitment to Action.\n\nWorking Conditions\nWhile performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform duties in both an office environment and on the manufacturing floor. You will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment while on the manufacturing floor. You will be required to work at the Fort Myers, Florida location Monday through Friday.
