It’s all about expanding your skills, challenging yourself, and exploring where your ambitions can take you!\nScope of Position\nThe New Product Development (NPD) Intern, as part of the New Product Development department within the Conditioning and Filtration platform, will support the development and evaluation of product-validation methods for water-conditioning and filtration products. This motivated individual will gain hands-on technical experience designing experiments, conducting laboratory-scale testing, analyzing technical data, and documenting results to support new product development initiatives.\nThis position reports to the New Product Development Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Worth, Texas.\nPrimary Job Duties and Responsibilities\nSupport water-treatment projects through the development and evaluation of engineering tools and test methods.\nDesign and conduct laboratory-scale experiments to evaluate product performance and validation methods.\nContribute to instrumentation-focused projects supporting water-treatment new product development.\nAssist with regulatory and product qualification projects, as needed.\nAnalyze and process project data to support technical evaluation and reporting.\nDocument testing procedures, experimental results, and technical findings to support product development activities.\nMaintain accurate testing records, communicate findings transparently, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nAssume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the New Product Development Manager or Company management.\nResponsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency) \nRequired Qualifications\nCurrent student (sophomore, junior or senior status).\nPursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.\nInterest in product development, water-treatment technologies, and related applications.\nPassionate about your work, with a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully and make an impact.\nDemonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions with others, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.\nStrong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and following through on commitments.\nUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCoursework, projects, or prior experience in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.\nPrevious laboratory experience.\nExperience with experimental design or test-method development.\nExperience with basic statistical analysis and technical data analysis.\nCoursework or prior experience related to regulatory requirements.\nFamiliarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment.\nExperience with technical data analysis, processing, and documentation.\nGeneral Applicable Company Competencies\nCommitment to Watts’ values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency.\nPunctuality and dependability.\nAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.\nAdherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts.\nMaintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.\nAdherence to Watts’ seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action.\n\nWorking Conditions\nWhile performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Fort Worth, TX location (Monday - Friday).
