Now, we have millions of users across 12 countries and are growing fast.\n\nOur goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that's where you come in...\n\nHow you'll help us achieve it\n\nWe’re looking for an Accounting Assistant who’s resourceful, organized, and proactive about getting things done. You'll be responsible for helping us develop and maintain an effective financial and accounting unit as we rapidly scale our business in Burkina Faso.\n\nIn this role, you'll\n\nSupport the Financial Controller in day-to-day work and the close process.\n\nBook accounting entries.\n\nReconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.\n\nTrack advance payment requests from the start of the request through the submission of supporting documents.\n\nProvide financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data.\n\nReconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.\n\nHandle financial closing tasks under the Financial Controller’s supervision.\n\nPrepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.\n\nMaintain digital and physical financial records.\n\nMaintain confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.\n\nKey details\n\nLocation: You'll work from our office in Burkina Faso and may travel to field locations.\n\nWork authorization in Burkina Faso is required\n\nThis is a permanent position\n\nOur salaries are competitive and calculated using a transparent formula.\n\nWe offer generous health insurance for yourself and your dependents\n\nAirtime reimbursement\n\nFree food and a beautiful office space\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or tax\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in accounting/auditing/finance\n\nGood experience with financial reporting requirements\n\nProven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines\n\nExceptional time management, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.\n\nGood computer skills, especially in Word and Excel\n\nPrior experience within a reputable external audit firm is considered a distinct advantage.\n\nYou might be a good fit if you\n\nPossess strong accounting and reporting skills.\n\nAre analytical in your approach to problems.\n\nAre a critical thinker who likes to challenge the status quo.\n\nAre deadline-orientated.\n\nAre intellectually curious, creative in the way you go about tackling problems, and embrace failure as a means to spark innovation and growth.\n\nKnow how to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.\n\nOur team\n\nWe have a rapidly growing in-country team in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, The Gambia, Uganda, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon plus remote team members spread across the world.\n\nWe're deeply passionate about our mission of bringing radically affordable financial services to the people who need them most.\n\nWe foster autonomy for our employees.
