It’s time to join our team and help build more sustainable environments!\nWe are currently looking for an Extrusion Team Leader to join us at Chippenham. The working pattern for this role is alternating days and nights, 3 on 3 off 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00\nThe role\nLead and coordinate the activities of extrusion operators during the shift.\n\nEnsure extrusion lines operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).\n\nMonitor production performance against targets and take corrective action where required.\n\nAllocate labour resources effectively to meet production requirements.\n\nSupport machine start-ups, product changeovers, shutdowns, and troubleshooting activities.\n\nEnsure products are manufactured to specification and meet all quality requirements.\n\nConduct and verify quality checks, process inspections, and production documentation.\n\nMonitor material usage, waste levels, and process efficiency to minimize losses.\n\nPromote and maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with 5S principles.\n\nLead daily shift handovers and communicate operational priorities effectively.\n\nAct as the first escalation point for production, quality, and safety issues.\n\nSupport training, onboarding, and development of team members.\n\nEncourage employee engagement and foster a positive team culture.\n\nWork closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to maximize plant performance.\n\nEnsure compliance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.\n\nInvestigate and report incidents, near misses, quality deviations, and operational issues.\n\nDrive continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing principles.\n\nSupport achievement of departmental KPIs relating to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.\n\nThe profile\nEssential\nExperience in an extrusion manufacturing environment.\n\nProven experience leading or supervising a production team.\n\nStrong understanding of extrusion processes, equipment, and production controls.\n\nKnowledge of quality standards and manufacturing best practices.\n\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\n\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines.\n\nSound understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.\n\nBasic IT skills and experience using production reporting systems.\n\nDesirable\nNVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.\n\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.\n\nIOSH Working Safely or Supervising Safely certification.\n\nExperience with SAP, MES, or other manufacturing systems.\n\nForklift licence or other relevant operational certifications.\n\nWhat Orbia Building & Infrastructure offers\nDo you want to make a difference by working with a purpose?
